Got your email Mark, just waiting on a reply to make sure I set you up with the right one.

Scott, will you send me an email on what you just typed. I am sure I can get you a 250 with 150 amp idle, but I would like to make sure so I don't stick my foot in my mouth :-)

He has them all Chad. Just a special type deal. He has to get the adapters and CNC the brackets :-) Shoot me an email with your cars info and what you want. If I don't hear back today, it will be around noon tomorrow guys.

I am not sure on a sponsor, but I will see what we can get rolling with him. If we get a couple orders, may get a discount :-)

Maybe you can actually get some customer service unlike iraggi haha. In fact if you're dealing through Kevin/Low-hz you know CS will be good regardless of the company.......

BTW another HO alternator company with great service is DB Electrical.

Pretty much, this company makes a 250/150 amp alt for any vehicle there is, and it is a direct bolt on.

Yes, you get them cheaper :-)

What kind of car and wattage are you running Chris?

I have an 08 wrangler, I have a ed configured to output 900 watts rms. I am happy with the factory do0r speaker amplifier but I guess I may one day upgrade that for a total of 1300ish. But for the near future it's 900 watts. I will rarely run at anywhere near capacity.

what do you keep bumping this for? if you're going to run more power then go ahead and get a ho alt. now. if not, just upgrade the battery and do the big 3 and go from there.

Chris,

You need to find out what your stock alt puts out. Then look at the amps your drawing compared to the amps your alt puts out.

"what do you keep bumping this for?"

For an answer mike, move along.

Kevin, I have learned that my truck has a 140A alternator from the manufacturer, but I'm having trouble figuring out how much of that the truck uses. People have taken guesses, is there a way to find out decisively?

What are "the big 3"? Battery, capacitor, better ground?

no, the big 3 isn't what you posted. it's upgrading the wiring (i never remember off the top of my head though). i don't have the link now (at work) but there is very easy step by step instructions on the big 3 over on 12volt. using 0 gauge would be the best, but i've seen some do it with 2 gauge. 140a is rather large for a stock alt. so you should have no problem running 900wrms off of it, but doing the big 3 wouldn't hurt any. and for a good rule of thumb, from what i've read several times, when estimating what your car needs from the alt. plan for 30-40a for the car.

BIG 3

0 ga. with good connections
1-Positive terminal to alt
2-Neg terminal to engine block
3-Engine block to chassis

You will already have these in place on your car... You do not need to remove them. Just add these to them. They also do not have to go in the same spots as factory wiring (grounds). fairly easy for most vehicles. Hope this helps
