apparently putting 2 4inch aeros will require me to have part of the port sticking out of the face of the box if i want the 4 inch clearing between the end of the port and the box wall.
give me some ideas on how i can do a riser and make it look clean. the port needs to stick out 2 inches.
Just cut 3 strips the height of your box with the width of the strips a little more than the aeros. Cut the holes in those and mount them to your box. It would look really clean if you matched whatever your box is covered with.
well since the mounting part of the flared end is approximately 8 inches in diameter, i would use the pvc pipe glue. that stuff sticks really good. then i would use somekind of epoxy to glue that on to the box. also i can use extra long screws so it will reach the wood. the screw won't show since it will be covered by the pipe.
hope you understand what i just wrote. lol. i am kinda lost myself reading my own post.
I would just try to use some bondo. do you have a router and jig? You could make 3 rings for each port which would raise it 2.25 inches and then glue that down and then use bondo to make them into "hills" for lack of a better way to describe them. just make it flow. oh and on the last ring sink it a little to make the ports flush.
Chad you could make the box larger it wont take much more to get the box to tune to 32 hz. I think you said you have plenty of room to the back of your trunk
it wont let me edit my previous post because it gave the wrong time (I posted this right after that)....what i mean is make it 2 inches deeper and change the dimensions to get a 32 hz tune if you do have plenty of room to the back of your trunk
