Wednesday, June 18, 2008 - 20:28 GMT Well I got it all installed in the impala and I'm not thrilled with the way it sounds. I have a 12" sx in my truck and its sounds great This 15 is almost popping on sharp notes I've change the direction of the box but no luck. I tuned it a little lower than my 12 but this 15 is in a box to specs 4 cu ft @ 34 hz. any ideas????

Wednesday, June 18, 2008 - 20:51 GMT What do you mean 'popping' ? Does it only happen when you turn it up loud? You may be sending it a clipped signal.

Thursday, June 19, 2008 - 02:15 GMT Remove the sub from the box and rehook it. Gently turn the sub up free air no where near what you would in the box just to get some movement out of it but not enough to bottom it out. You may have a mechanical issue. I had a couple of them and absolutely loved them, great subs... Polo.

Thursday, June 19, 2008 - 03:46 GMT Out of curiosity, why do you only have you gain set @ ~900w? I'm assuming electrical issues? Could be a bad connection somewhere too. Does your sub/amp ever feel warm or hot? Does it ever shut off periodically?

Thursday, June 19, 2008 - 20:23 GMT No it hasnt shut off and i have a voltage guage that I keep an eye on but yea stock electrical. I was getting some bad voltage drop idling with the AC on but now its staying 14ish all the time. Thanks Polo I'll try that and see if there are any issues.
