I am running 2 mtx thunder 3000 12in subs off of an audiobahn A8000V amp. My amp gets extremly and then cuts off after awhile. I do have them bridged together as well. Could it be a ground problem? Can anyone let me know a solution? thank you.

I really dont know as much about sound as I would like to can someone please try to work with me. This setup is in a 99 gmc Yukon and sounds great up till they cut off. and if I even try to cut the amp up at all it gets hotter faster.

What impedance (ohm) are the subs? You may have them wired to too low of an impedance.

hmmm. If those are the subs, then you should be good with the wiring. How is your gain set? And yes, re-check your ground. Make sure it is clean, bare metal where it is connected to your vehicle.

the bass boost is off , phase shift is on 0 and the gain is only about halfway. do you still think it could be the ground? or what?

x2 on the ground. Try grounding on a bolt that connects to the frame too, for better grounding.

What gauge power and ground do you have?
