I presently have a alpine 9883 Hu.,and four 5x7 boston acoustics speakers in the doors. I have purchased a set of Q-form kick panels to install a set of 6.5 inch components. I want to upgrade to top quality speakers, and a good amp to drive them. I want to bi amp the comps. I Live in newfoundland, so it is hard to access good speakers to listen to , so I will be ordering online. Any Advice would be appreciated.

Do you want subs? These will factor in also. Would you describe your current Boston's as not bright enough/too bright/somewhere in the middle?

I would prefer no sub. I have to turn the treble up on max on the bostons to get a good tonal quality. I am open to any solution though

I would highly suggest a sub as you're gonna be missing most everything in your music from 65hz and down. However if you want a sub-less solution, feel free to PM me and I'll help you get some stuff figured out to get great sound without subs.

Who's doing your install? If you won't be doing it, install costs will need to factor into your budget.

Are those Boston's the best set of speakers you've heard or are there any others you can give us for reference?

Sorry for so many questions, but when you're dealing with a budget of that amount....it's best to get all of the details right first before making a recommendation.

I don't mind the Questions. I live in an area where it is hard to find good quality stereo equiptment. The Bostons were all that was available to choose from when I purchased them. they are 5x7's. I will be doing the install myself, there is no installer in my area. My plan for now is to install a really good set of components first, and eventually add a really good sub. It is a sort of building project for me. I want to have a great system, but cant afford to get it all at once. There is not a big demand where I live for high end gear, so most retailers just carry entry level, if you want better your out of luck.
