what do generally have to measure? isnt just the depth of the sub cause i was arguing with my friend because you dont need to do many complicated measurement wheras building a ported enclosure ..soo what do you before building a fiberglass enclosure?

i dont know what you were arguing really.

a sealed enclosure is easier than a ported one if that's what you meant. you still should make measurements no matter what you use. If anything i would say fiberglass enclosures are much harder to construct.

alot of work, mess, and money but so worth it. if anything make the inclosure too big that way you can always add sandbags as dispacements

Yes, you have to make measurements when making a subwoofer enclosure.

Yes, you can just place a mdf ring on a board, and fiberglass the entire thing without measuring anything. but you could also just make a box without measuring as well. but if you want to do it properly you will measure with both enclosures.

build the enclosure so your sure if anything its too big. get packaging peanuts they come in usually .5cuft packages dump them in and measure the cuft then if you need to make it smaller add sand bags

measure cubic feet for fiberglass enclosure... cause what i was telling my friend that when building a fiberglass enclosure you neccessarily dont have to do as many calculations like sealed or ported...but he's the same person that says you dont need to calculate air space when building ported or sealed enclosure just cut a box and call it a day..i explained for 30 minutes that it is important but he went on in his own world so i gave up... also a subwoofer in the wrong box can damage the woofer right?

"i was telling my friend that when building a fiberglass enclosure you neccessarily dont have to do as many calculations like sealed or ported"

The only difference between a box made out of MDF and a box made of fiberglass is the materials. You could make it out of steel, either way, it's still a box and needs to be calculated correct.

"also a subwoofer in the wrong box can damage the woofer right?"

Yes

nice sites. correct me if im wrong but cant u buy this stuff in some big azz sheets, cut it to the proper length and screw it 2gether? this seems like a pain. do you have to mold it to the car or can u just make universal or prefab boxes?
