Saturday, May 31, 2008 - 17:33 GMT It is going to take at least 2 gauge to run that amp. Kicker suggests that you put a 150 amp fuse on the power wire. That gives you an idea on the amount of current that this thing will be using.

Sunday, June 01, 2008 - 18:47 GMT a 15' run of 4 gauge will safely run 131 amps of current. If you increase this amount, you may risk burning the wire and also hurting the amp. The KX1200.1 does not have an onboard fuse, so kicker recommends you using a 150amp fuse to protect the amp. That is really cutting it close. Do you want to really risk that?

Sunday, June 01, 2008 - 19:49 GMT I used 4 gauge on this amp for like a month and I swear, the amp would cut off all the time at high volumes or songs with very low bass. For example, whenever I tried to play Hypnotize by Jeezy, it would always turn off at the lowest note on the intro! lol I thought that sense it was a cheap 4 gauge that maybe that was the reason...My friend was going to give me his Rockford 4 gauge kit for free, didn't know if that would help or not!

Sunday, June 01, 2008 - 23:24 GMT x2. Paul is the man. If your tight on cash, his 2ga should work too, or you could get the 0ga and be good to go for the future.
