Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 390 Registered: May-07 | what kind of sound do you want from your subs? SQ, SQL, SPL? |
New member Username: Capthowdy575USA Post Number: 7 Registered: May-08 | in know what SQ stands for but what about the other two what do they stand for sorry about that im more of a audio noob lol |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 701 Registered: Nov-07 | sq- sound quality spl- loud sql- mixture of both i have a 15 inch Fi BTL for sale - it would be more on the SPL side $250 shipped if interested |
Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 392 Registered: May-07 | SPL stands for sound pressure level. A SPL sound from a subh means that you sacrifice SQ for pure loudness SQL is right in the middle., |
New member Username: Capthowdy575USA Post Number: 8 Registered: May-08 | pics and specs please also im really wanting to stick with a 12 inch the only music i like is rock and tech sometimes rap depending on artist. i liked to have SQ but i could handle for a nice SQL sub |

Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 703 Registered: Nov-07 | its probably last year or a year prior but its still basically new i was planning on making my box about 5 cubes 2000 rms www.ficaraudio.com |
Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 395 Registered: May-07 | In the right box that sub wil KILL your car!! In a good way of course! |
Silver Member Username: Dsmith07NC Http://com4.... Post Number: 824 Registered: Jun-06 | I'd have to say the R's are SQL subs and the X's are SQ. 2 12" Type R's on a AQ1200D. Doesn't get too much more cheaper than that and still hold quality. Don't be stuck on Alpine unless you get a discount or something, broaden your horizons. www.audioque.com www.ddaudio.com www.stereointegrity.com www.soundsplinter.com just to name a few |
New member Username: Capthowdy575USA Post Number: 10 Registered: May-08 | well im and audio noob lol so i really dont know that many names could some one suggest a good 12 inch sub i have about 500 max to spend on a sub |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 9403 Registered: Jun-04 | do a single 12 in that car in a box around 2 cubes or less and youll be happy....my brother had a saturn and it hit best up in the low 50 hz range with a high fs sub (probably 40 hz) how big of an alternator are you going to run because that will help determine how much power you can run without alot of voltage drop....also include what other amp or amps your going to run besides the hifonics amp you listed |
Bronze Member Username: Capthowdy575USA Post Number: 12 Registered: May-08 | ok thanks for all the help will be getting a alpine type x. could anyone recommend a good 2 cube box for this sub thanks. |
Silver Member Username: Prozack52Cincinnati, 2-D615D4 Dia... Post Number: 344 Registered: Feb-08 | yea man build it yourself its not hard to build a box. 2 cube box carpet and wood 50-60 dollars to build and i believe the type x excells in sealed enclousers so go sealed for that sub |
Bronze Member Username: Capthowdy575USA Post Number: 14 Registered: May-08 | ok well iv never built a sub box ever. what wood would be best and i know i should use screws. but thats about it |
