is it possible to strap two Alpine PDX-1.1000 amps together so they would act as one amp? and i would be powering a pair of Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 12" subs

Don't you already have a thread involving your amps and subs?
https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/487927.html

Is there any reason you still want the pdx over the AQ?

And no, PDX amps are not strappable (from what i read)

oh i didnt have any preference just wondering and yes i did have a different thread just no one had answered it so i just started a new one involving the amps
so i can strap 2 AQ's and it will be the same as two PDX's?

"so i can strap 2 AQ's and it will be the same as two PDX's?"

Actually the AQs would put out a bit more power strapped. The problem is that the subs only wire to 1 or 4 ohms together. If you strap them at 1 ohm, each AQ amp would be seeing a .5 ohm load and is NOT recommended.

Since you have a higher budget, maybe check out a single RD 1750 or another amp similar such as a Sundown 1500. Kevin Holden could help you with a price on both. They would give you the power you need at 1 ohm without a sweat.

Edit:
I also forgot about the AQ 2200. Maybe check into that to since it is in the power range you need.

ok i'll look into those two amps and i may be a little confused but i thought that the Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 12" subs could be wired at 2 ohms or 4 ohms. so would i need an amp that put out 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms?

Ok Hunter, let me explain this.

One dual4 sub (like your pioneer) can only be wired to 2 or 8 ohms ALONE.

Since you have two, they can be wired down to 1 or 4 ohms. (Say you wired each sub to 2 ohms, when you put them in parallel together, it wires down to one ohm. When you put them in series together, it wires them to 4 ohms.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp

That is a good wiring wizard that will show you diagrams on how to wire the subs to the ohm load desired.

sweet!! thank you nick! thats just what i needed! so my next question for you is since each sub is 1000 watts rms there is 2000 watts rms when wired together right? so i would need an amp that produced 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm or 4 ohms since thats what my pair of subs run at?
and what would you recommend i run my subs at? 1 ohm or 4 ohms?

"so i would need an amp that produced 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm or 4 ohms since thats what my pair of subs run at?"

That is correct ;)
I would always recommend running them at 4 ohms, but finding an amp that will produce 2k rms at 4 ohms is generally a power house, so you will probably have to stick to running them at 1 ohm which is not bad at all.

Man, do you honestly think that you can get an amp brand new that actually does that power for $144.95?

Stay away from Lanzar and other cheap brands that are just in it for marketing. I have suggested to you a few of the cheaper amps that do the power you need at the correct ohm load.

In car audio, you get what you pay for.

the sundown 1500 d is 1500 rms at 1 ohm correct?
I will be running a pair of Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 12" subs that RMS at 2000 watts together or 1000 each (not to insult your intelligence) and i dont think the sundown at 1500 watts will not be able to run 2000 watts am i correct about that or no?

It will put out extremely close. The sundown 1500 is actually a bit under rated. That is a steal for 300 bucks and Mike is a good guy.

The SAZ-1500 is rated 1500rms @ 12.8v FYI
