Saturday, May 24, 2008 - 04:34 GMT I have a system in my mountainer right now and its 2 12 in type s's. I have a memphis class ab/ class d hybrid 55w x 4/ 400wx1 amp, memphis 5x7 pr 15-pr572 speakers and a alpine cda 9886 deck. I want to get 2 type r 12's and keep the amp i have powering my speakers still. What would be the best amp for my two new subs (would an alpine pdx-4.100 work?) and even better question is this even possible to do?

Saturday, May 24, 2008 - 06:04 GMT No , alpine amps are not build for power , there for mild listeners , go with a soundstream amp or a hifonics BXi 1206D amp and power the subs at 1 ohm . Thats my 2 cents

Saturday, May 24, 2008 - 12:18 GMT DON'T LISTEN TO FRAZ!! STUPID INFO GIVEN^^. and fraz, if you can't give decent imput, then don't post anything at all. but to the op, you'll want a mono amp for the subs. if going alpine, i'd suggest either a pdx1000.1 for the pair, or a pdx600.1 (one for each sub).

Saturday, May 24, 2008 - 23:16 GMT if it does 1000wrms at the ohm load you need it will. you could give them even more if wanted to.
