Help me decide. So many choices

Well I've had my alpha for about a year now and decided I want to try something new, as well I enjoy building boxes and this will be a chance to do a sort of "custom/show" box.

I was thinking of a 15" but they really just take up a lot of space. So I'm really looking into either a single or dual 10" setup.

I don't want to pay much more than $300 for a pair, so if you have any other suggestions, feel free.

Right now I'm looking at a pair of Image Dynamic ID10s, a pair of SDC2.5s, a single HDC3, SSA Icon.

I was really set on the IDs, but now I'm unsure. I have 1000wrms at 1 ohm (RD1000.1) that I will be using, nothing more.

I want SQL. the box will be ported, tuned to 34hz probably (max).

Thanks in advance.

Audioque SD 2.5s seem to get good reviews.

Not sure about the lows though.

i really think a pair of sound splinter rl-i 10s would be a good choice for you. it would get loud and clean. i know its a bit over your budget but just look at it. it looks awesome. lol.

I have a gmi pro 2125 watt amp powering dual 10 inch mtx subs and asingle 10 inch mtx punch sub plus a 10 inch acoustic profile passive sub the signal to the amp is fed by the sub out my 500 watt jvc receiver it sounds great until at loud passages then the gmi shuts down temporarily and then resets is this because the subs are 4 ohms the amp is rated stable at 4 ohms is there any way I can change the impedeince of the subs to 8 ohms can someone help thanks

yes, yo change the subs to 8 ohms, remove the coil assembly, add a few hundreds coils of a very fine copper wire. Enlarge the hole where the coil go to accept the larger coil. re-assembly and there you go. No problem.

And for a single, maybe a W7 in a HO box.

thats perfect. if he gets another dual 4ohm sub then he can easily wire it to the amp he has.

if not the sound splinter, i really like the treo tsx's also. they hit hard and sound clean. i would recomend the treo ssi's but you need a bit more power.

lol paul.

thats a good price paul is offering. paul never used it so its brad new and i bet mike from soundsplinter will honor the warranty even though you bought it from paul. assuming you buy the other one from sound splinter.

also if you want to view more options, i found this on ebay. its a pair of treo tsx 10s in a treo prefab box. now i know what you are thinking, prefab box? well the treo prefabs are designed and tested for their subs.
