I was going to buy a set of the JBL GTi comps, an Audison LRX 1.400, an Audison LRX 2.500, and a box from Woodlawn. All in all, this would cost me say $1200. Lately, I've come to the decision that I want to buy another 15" Mag. Then I would buy a Mmats 2100.2 for the Mags which would run me about $750. I would buy the same comps but buy a different comp amp, something around $300, which would probably be of less quality than the Audison. Then I would have to buy a box from Woodlawn, which we are unsure if we can do 2 15"s ported tuned to 30hz in my trunk, might have to be sealed. All in all, this road would cost say $1600. Another route I have considered is trying 2 12" or 2 15" IA Flatlynes off a Mmats 2100.2. Again with the same set of JBL GTi comps with a $300 amp for them. Not sure on the price but I believe this route would be the most costly. Everyday, I think about which way to go and everyday is different. So route would you go? Either way, I know I'll be happy and I know I'll have solid equipment across the board this time around. I also am almost positive which way everyone is going to say to go but I just want to see what everyone has to say and to see if I may have overlooked anything. |

Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 6022 Registered: Feb-06 | i say wait for the new mags to come out and run a pair of those. but if not those, try the flatlynes. |
Gold Member Username: Nyyfan1315 MAG USA Post Number: 9428 Registered: Jul-06 | I've considered the new Mags Mike. But I have read that they really prefer to be sealed as opposed to ported. Although it is very tempting to try out the new drivers, especially at that price. The low end seems to be incredible on them with the xbl^2 motor they have. Also they are the best sounding MAG from what I've read. The Flatlynes look real solid but I honestly don't know much about them. The sq on them seem to be real good from what I've read so far. Only thing I didn't like about this sub is the low efficiency but it really shouldn't be too big of a problem at all. |

Gold Member Username: Nyyfan1315 MAG USA Post Number: 9429 Registered: Jul-06 | "So you have a HO alternator already?" Not getting one. Doing big 3, upgrading the battery, and hoping for the best lol. Seriously though, I think I'd be fine. Right now, I have no problems. I'll install a voltage meter up front with me and watch the voltage and if its bad, then I'll cut my losses and change things up. The only review of the Flatlynes I have read is on SSA. |

Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 6025 Registered: Feb-06 | you could do a pair of oz audio me 10"s ported. would be a real nice setup if you never heard them, and they can be had for under $400 for the pair now which is a steal. just throwing you another option though, but i still say a pair of new mags! |

Gold Member Username: Nyyfan1315 MAG USA Post Number: 9463 Registered: Jul-06 | Well, hate to disappoint everyone but I am going with Option number 1. Hopefully design some nice looking amp rack for the matching Audison amps. Reason for this decision is because I don't want to potentially ruin my alt or equipment from voltage drops and because the money I save from this will go to a different project ![]() |
