Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8863 Registered: Jun-04 | can someone make him up a cut sheet I have to go 14.5 high x 31 wide x 35.25 deep internal the port is 14.5 high x 8.25 wide the subs go one over top of the other firing up and the port is on the left rear of the box firing back...and the port is 16.75 inches long (The box is built with .75 mdf) |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 492 Registered: Mar-07 | bump before i got to sleep |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 493 Registered: Mar-07 | Don't worry about the cut sheet I got it all written out. Just hope it doesn't rain today... |
Gold Member Username: Stateprop486PA Post Number: 1435 Registered: Jan-08 | that sh!t is goin to pound lol. damn in the pic with both sub/amps im guessing the new sub is on the left jack? the AQ logo is bigger and its like silver color. The 1st shipment is like white color n smaller. Its going to be 70 degrees today in PA. |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 494 Registered: Mar-07 | haha yeah the new sub is on the left. kinda sucks that there different because the old one it seams to be a sticker. but the new one is painted on. Weather here in MD its going to be a high of 69 degrees. And its going to be foggy and mixed with drizzle's. so later on looks like im building inside... lol |
Gold Member Username: Stateprop486PA Post Number: 1437 Registered: Jan-08 | lol yea that kinda sucks, it would prob bug the sh1t out of me having two different size/color logos but thats just me. haha...prob going to be humid.. i hate the sticky feeling outside. |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 495 Registered: Mar-07 | Lol yeah its kind of annoying but ill get over it. ill be listing to it more than seeing it But yeah i guess you guys can look for pics of the box later on . And possibly videos |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8874 Registered: Jun-04 | im glad you got the cut sheet done...it looks like rain for saturday at usaudio though I cant wait to see this thing built...maybe you should make the port removable so you can put a spl port in...what frequency did you hit best at the ecoustics meet |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 496 Registered: Mar-07 | Sean i did a little rough box sketch. are you saying this is the way the box should be? sub mounting and all? http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e215/jcoleman134/roughboxsketch.jpg |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 497 Registered: Mar-07 | At the meet i think it was about 52 hz. At the Usaudio meet it starts early and on weather.com is says it pm showers. hopefully we dont get any rain. At the ecoustics meet it was supposed to rain but it was pretty nice out so maybe it'll happen here too lol |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8875 Registered: Jun-04 | "Sean i did a little rough box sketch. are you saying this is the way the box should be? sub mounting and all?" I cant see the picture real well on my monitor but it looks like you have one sub facing up and the other firing backward and I wanted them both facing up with the port on the rear of the box like your old setup |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8876 Registered: Jun-04 | "At the meet i think it was about 52 hz. Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8878 Registered: Jun-04 | well I guess well see which way you went with...heck your way will probably be better on the trunk (since I realized you went with port forward sub forward and another sub firing up) |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 498 Registered: Mar-07 | Well i got the box in and subs mounted. and i think we have a problem =/. The subwoofer is going to hit the metal dividing the trunk from the backseat when it is playing. I dont know what to do. |
Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveA pic is worth 1000 posts!! Post Number: 15865 Registered: Jun-06 | Damn. No room to play with at all? You could save 3/4" by flush mounting the subs. Means more cutting tho. |
Diamond Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 20192 Registered: Oct-05 | i'm surprised paul didnt' upload the pics for jack on this thread. |

Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 499 Registered: Mar-07 | Go Paul!! Thanks man lol. But with the flush mount the box wouldn't fit =[. i guess im just going to have to have one sub in and one out of the trunk. I feel like a damn noob doing that though. |
Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveA pic is worth 1000 posts!! Post Number: 15870 Registered: Jun-06 | Why wouldn't the box fit with the subs flush mounted in the box? You're not losing much on box volume. Maybe I'm missing something. |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 500 Registered: Mar-07 | i think im misunderstanding you. By flush are you talking about adding another sheet of MDF over the one thats already there but cutting an even bigger hole so the whole subwoofer will fit? Im saying the subwoofer fits in there in the trunk but when it will play the excursion will make the subwoofer it a piece of metal and it will mess up the sub. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 3546 Registered: Nov-04 | what vehicle is this going in |

What I mean is take your current box and cut the hole/s for you subs wider. The acual size of the overall sub. Then cutting some MDF rings and dropping the sub into the enclosure. What you gain is the depth of the mounting thickness of your sub's frame. Like this... You secure the rings from the underside with wood glue and screws. What you're left with is a "flush" mount sub. |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8899 Registered: Jun-04 | get that sub flush mounted Jack...we want to see some pics |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 501 Registered: Mar-07 | I wish what paul said would help but it would still hit. i just have to find someone with a strong enough saw too cut this pos metal out. Well today im going to hook the battery back up and place the amps back there. I got my headunit working again. i think the front plate was just loose |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8900 Registered: Jun-04 | was your headunit a pioneer by chance because my brother has that same problem with his wifes headunit...can you take some pics of your subs situation...maybe we can come up with another solution |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 502 Registered: Mar-07 | Yup i have a pioneer premier 6900ub. it turns off randomly sometimes too. but yeah ill take a picture of what im talking about . |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8903 Registered: Jun-04 | man im glad I steered clear of pioneer for my headunit...too many people having issues...cool on the pic |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 503 Registered: Mar-07 | yeah there nice but have too many bad things going for them. i wouldn't buy another one. But as for pics here they are. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8904 Registered: Jun-04 | I thought this box was the same height as the old box...also where are both the subs mounted on the top right |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8905 Registered: Jun-04 | ok well you could take the box out of the car and knock the front baffle off and put a new one on my bro has done it a few times...as an after thought I think you should try the one sub to the front firing into the cab and the other on top like before but make sure its placed right so you have your clearance for the subs excursion this time |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 504 Registered: Mar-07 | Yeah there both mounted on the top. Its ok its my mistake. i forgot about that problem. |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 505 Registered: Mar-07 | Well i might change it up but right now im good. i just have one firing up into the cab and one firing up in the trunk. Now i have to go and get a anl fuse and a set of rca's. Then i should be good to go. install looks like crap but ill clean it up later. i just want it playable for tomorrow and then ill clean it up lol. |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 506 Registered: Mar-07 | Well its all hooked up. but for some reason one of the rca's got stuck in the amp and when i pulled it out it broke, but when i plug it back in it works. so idk. but its loud as hell . ill go take a couple pictures. its not a pretty install. i wanted to get it done before tonight because i have somewhere to go and then tomorrow is the competition. so its not pretty by any means but it sounds pretty |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8911 Registered: Jun-04 | Your saying the rca broke and stuck on the amps rca right if so your lucky but be carefull when you take the broken part off the amp...as far as the box being half in and half out of the trunk they will put you in a different class because of that...but what are you going to do haha...Im glad its loud and I cant wait to get to hear it |
Silver Member Username: ExplictxGlen Burnie, Maryland USA Post Number: 507 Registered: Mar-07 | yeah i mean it works so im straight for now. do you know what class ill be in? im not even sure im going to compete. its annoying to try and go to pause a song on this radio. |
