What will the differences be between having my sub facing towards the back in the trunk And removing the rear seat and having the sub face the inside of the car?
So having the sub facing unto the car with the rear seats out wont necesarily be better than just having it fire into the trunk??? I have a large trunk, but it is closed of from the cabin of the car. I'm not sure it i should remove the rear seats, or try to make them fold down some how
the only diffrence having the seats actually in the car is it will change the frequency that you will actually hear because the seats are in the way. But it doesnt matter either way try both and see what sounds better for you. I find firing the sub to the rear of the car creates to much rattling i like firing the sub inside sounds better imo
i have an 06 monte carlo and my seats fold down, theres massive difference and i got 2 15's. i use to have a 90 cavalier with fold down seats and i experimented with facing the subs into the car. imo its louder facing the trunk cause the sounds bounces off the trunk wall and flows into the car nicer. if you face them into the car what are the sound waves bouncing off of? nothing..
If you aim it into the cabin, you had better get the whole front exposed into the cabin and also you will need to seal off the trunk or you will have cencellation issues. I have a 2001 grand prix and my box face is into the cabin while the trunk behind it is sealed. Found this to be the loudest by far, gain was huge but it must be totally sealed. This was the cheap box I used as a former, served its purpose as a test dummy.
Here is what it looks like after I cut it out, waiting for the temps to rise so I can do some glassing...Polo.
New box will slide right in no problemo just takes a little imagination...
