Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1572 Registered: Sep-05 | I did bettery to chasis and engine to chasis ground or what not and I never got further as alt to battery is just retarded as getting to the alt is stupid. I'll get that done when I get a new alt or have my current alt rewound. Good news: I can already notice a huge difference in my voltage! When idleing I used to drop into the low 13v and now I sit up above 14v when ideling. Now I just have to get my subs in the box (once it arrives) and bump out some new high score and it better be over 150db...lol |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 2357 Registered: Nov-06 | Nice, man. How long until you get the box? Good luck! I did my Big 3 when I installed my EA alt so I imagine it helped a lot but the alternator doesn't charge properly at idle. |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1573 Registered: Sep-05 | FedEx says April 2 so thats damn fast since it was shipped March 27th. My EA alt died... started my car up after winter storage and it went kaput! Plus my EA alt blew chunks at idle with barely any tuneage going I would drop to 12.5ish....lame! |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8722 Registered: Jun-04 | what kind of vehicle are you going to be running your stuff in Mike and what amps and subs |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1574 Registered: Sep-05 | Car: 94 Saturn SC2 Amp: RD 5750.1 Subs: 2x12" elite SPL V.2 Box: 5.8cu Feet tuned to 43hx peaks around 50-53 I think Plus tons (6 cans I think) of ExVibration I hit 147db even (Usaci, car one TL on the passenger side floor in a metal ball thing) with my old subs and box and the box I have now was made for some Clarion subs not to specs or anything. So the Fischer box will be made for my new subs. |

Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1575 Registered: Sep-05 | I wish! I have go to a competition so I can see my new score...lol Plus I know they guys that run the events so after I can see what I hit when my car is running, or, wait untill the Western finals as they do USACI runs after db drag. I did a 145.6 in db drag as my highest last season. |

If your amp is grounded to the frame that wire was the bottleneck between the amp and the battery before. The alternator wire doesn't need to be upgraded until you get an HO alt. Which I HIGHLY recommend instead of getting your stock alt rebuilt. Most of the rebuilders don't do a real good job thats why rebuilt alts are known to be very unreliable. |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1576 Registered: Sep-05 | @ M.S. Who would you recommend for an alt? As Online is wayyy cheaper than in town for me. Hopefully the company you recommend are not or will not be the new EA alt . I can also see about getting my EA alt fixed...... |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 7114 Registered: Jul-06 | DB Electrical or MCR is what I would buy. I have dealt with those two companies and the products/service is very good. |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1577 Registered: Sep-05 | I can not find a web site for MCR any where do you have a link? |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8730 Registered: Jun-04 | well im sure you can do a 150 in that car but it will be a challenge...my bro has his obstacles with space to a degree and yours is you have a trunk car...does the saturn have much trunk room |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1579 Registered: Sep-05 | Hrmmm not tons of space but my new box is going to take up a pretty big chunk of it with the subs and port firing into the cabin. |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7650 Registered: Jul-06 | Mike, do you plan on using that pit in the trunk for anything? |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1581 Registered: Sep-05 | @Rob My spare tire is in there but I cant really get at it with the sub box in there! Ideas? |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7654 Registered: Jul-06 | Some wiring or maybe some thin batts could fit down there. Of course I'd deaden it to prevent shorts of any kind. |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1582 Registered: Sep-05 | That picture was taken about half way as the entire trunk is covered in that deadening paste. I thought about a battery but I wouldn't be able to compete in Street B as you are only allowed one battery in stock location. Plus I wouldn't want to get caught cheating as that would just look bad! |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7658 Registered: Jul-06 | Oh nice, you can fit a spool of wire down there. |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7659 Registered: Jul-06 | Hey Mike, sorry to ask you this way but if you're a member on CA.com can you leave me some feedback there? Here's the link to my feedback thread: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=281226 |

Gold Member Username: LoudonPost Number: 2364 Registered: Jun-04 | rob ill leave u some feedback over there if u need it |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1585 Registered: Sep-05 | @Sean It would be nice if I could even move my large amp behind my sub box in the trunk but I don't think it will fit back there. The only place is on the back of my rear seats, folded down so I can only handle 1 passenger now...lol |

Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1586 Registered: Sep-05 | It's for the greater glory! Also, my box is on the FedEx truck waiting to be delivered so I hope I am home before they try to drop it off. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 3524 Registered: Nov-04 | sorry if i missed it mike but are you firing the subs into the cab sealed off from the trunk? can you run with your trunlk popped? |
Gold Member Username: MixmastaspigTeam RD, Canada Post Number: 1588 Registered: Sep-05 | They will be firing into the cabin but the trunk won't be sealed off. I was thinking about that and I will see if I can do it or not. You can't run with trunk popped in DB drag but in USACI you can pop what ever you want, I usually pop my collar, holla! ...lol |
