Gold Member Username: 04redmach1Lagrange, GA USA Post Number: 1711 Registered: Mar-06 | Well on 1500 rms you will not have an issue with the subs period. They have a little higher Fs than some subs, but at 1500 rms you could tune down to mid 30's and keep a F3 of around low 30's and be ok. Just set your subsonic filter at or a tad above the F3 of your box. Kevin |

If you get a 9515 i wouldnt do under 2200. They are actually not that bad on the low end. i like it. ya my AA avalanche gets a lot lower but my 9515 hits the lows supprisingly good. As long as you give it clean power and dont send it a clipped signal you will not "pop it" these subs are made extraamly well any it takes a lot to blow them (unless you send it a clipped signal) great sub deffinitly worth the money highly reccomended |

Gold Member Username: SouthernrebelMonroe, Louisiana 2 DD3515s, 2... Post Number: 6242 Registered: Mar-04 | Chad, that 9512 won't have the lowend of an RL-S.lol But in the right box, they can have dam nice lows. Depending on the power you plan to run, you may want to just go w/ a 3500. The 3500 will like 1500wrms better. |
Gold Member Username: 04redmach1Lagrange, GA USA Post Number: 1712 Registered: Mar-06 | I do agree with Canaan on running 1500 rms to a 3500 series sub, but personally I wouldn't run much more than rated on either of them if you want to get them low. There are alot better subs for the lows if that is what you are wanting. Kevin |

Post Number: 19760 Registered: Oct-05 | "Chad, that 9512 won't have the lowend of an RL-S.lol " come to think of it, at the time i was switching back and forth from the rl-s and the 9512. so yeah the sq was really different. it wasn't fair of me to judge the low end of the 9512. |
Gold Member Username: ZacdavisBeloit, Wi Post Number: 1633 Registered: Dec-03 | Kevin is right Snarl. 1500 rms is PLENTY of power for a 9515. As for 35 and 95 with equal power...the 95 is actually louder than the 35. The 95 does have a stiffer suspension but the MS is so much higher than the 35 it more than makes up for it. We've done countless testing on all DD woofers. In all honesty a 9515 will be happy with a true 1000wrms for daily. |

Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7631 Registered: Jul-06 | Well, when describing RMS(Root-Mean-Square) it can be misleading. that's why I posted what I did Snarl. Sure the 9515 can take 3-4k or more for burps but that's not true daily RMS power handling. |
Gold Member Username: Snarl2004Digital Design 9515, Massive Audi... Post Number: 2346 Registered: Dec-06 | lol i know im just giving you a hard time rob |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 2366 Registered: Nov-06 | Maybe I'll join you, man. What is this RMS power I'm reading about? ;) Seriously though, I think we should try and phase that out. There's enough in the way of misconceptions in this hobby. |
Gold Member Username: Philly306New quote coming soon, North carolina Post Number: 1037 Registered: Apr-07 | cam im glad you know that it doesn't truly exist. thats good. but for a teaching tool the phrase "rms" is great especially for people who don't care to learn anymore than that concept. Alot of people don't want to take the time to learn about that kind of thing. |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin4 10 Pioneer... Post Number: 13467 Registered: Jul-05 | MHO of DD 9500 subs (& some ppl will disagree) good if u want LOUD (especially when u want ppl outside ur ride to hear u bumping) with a tad of SQ to it - wouldnt tune lower than 38hz since IMO it fails to do that well ...to some ppl thats "lows" ....not to me since what i consider to be lows is from 34hz & down so buy the correct sub for ur real needs ... |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 2368 Registered: Nov-06 | Most people don't even learn the true concept of it though. Continuous or average power is just as useful for teaching although some might complain about having to type a few extra letters. |

Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 7139 Registered: Jul-06 | Yawn. We've had this debate before. I run 3000w all day to my 9515 and it's great on any music even the most bass heavy rap. There are only a few "bass tracks" where I'm not able to run that much power to it safely. And I run the same power to it in comps. I could probably put even more on it for a few second burps, but I don't want to push it. The guys on the DD forum use 5kw+ for burps on theirs. |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7665 Registered: Jul-06 | Ugh lol. M.S. you don't get the point. Run your sub on an average of 3000 watts and see what happens. Just run it on a sine wave with 3000 watts all day. There's a huge difference as we all know. Hell, try running your sub playing some mean Bass Mekanik tracks on 3,000 watts all day and your sub will probably get stinky. |
Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 7666 Registered: Jul-06 | Oh and I didn't know you competed, what do you compete in M.S.? DB Drag?Meca? Usaci? SLAP? Pocket Pool? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 7144 Registered: Jul-06 | As I said some of the bass mekanik tracks are too much for that amount of power. But for music it's just right. I just do local comps for fun not serious competition. Most of them are DB Drag. When I change to my SQ system I will still go just to see everyones system even though I know I won't win my class. |

Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 7147 Registered: Jul-06 | Haha you know about it Chad I told you before. I'm changing to an SQ system with two 12" subs. Going to keep my American Bass 3000w amp. I will probably get SoundSplinter RL-Ps unless I come across something better for 1500w each. They have to be 12"s b/c I don't want the box to take up any more than half of my Blazer's cargo area. I could do two 15"s if I used all the space. |
