New member Username: Jl_pumpPost Number: 1 Registered: Mar-08 | I have my jl w3's wired to 1 ohm. with a 500.1 my question is how much can I push them? I know they are 4 ohm subs but it should be safe to run them 1 ohm to a 500.1, cause they are rated at 300rms each right? I have the gain turned half way up and they havn't distorted yet nor does it sound like im pushing them to much. if this is safe how should I go about tuning the gain? keep going in untill they distort and go back a notch from there? thanks for helping a noob |

If they are dual 4 ohm, don't wire they 1 ohm on that amp (assuming its a jl 500.1 coorect?) Wire the coils series, and the subs parallel to amp to create a 4 ohm load, like this...wiring option #2 http://rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2& woofer_imp=4 |
