i got done installing this set like an hour ago. took a long drive to really give it a listen.
i really love it.
i am powering it with a rd audio 55.4. it was going to bridge it so it sees 150wrms x2 but i don't need to. this amp puts out good power without bridging it so won't. infact maybe i'll go active one day.
anyways, listening to some judas priest while driving around. man the guitar comes alive. the mid just screams at you with a deep sound. the tweeters are awesome too. not harsh but very smooth. i had to adjust the tweeter level cause it much closer to me than the mids are.
also listening to some trance and techno, the keyboard sounds awesome. very strong and again deep. i love it.
since its dark and late, i just did a temp mount of the tweeters. i think ima mount the tweeters in my stock location which is front of the dash. that way it will be pretty much equal distance with the mid giving it much better timing.
now according to the manual, after 20hours of play will i really get the effect of the sq. but i love it already.
i will have the realm audio 600.2 up for sale. here are the spces.

not sure yet berny. its better than the mmats and the jl audio comps i had. i need to really listen to it on my way to work to determine if its better than the focals i had. usually i have to hear it the next day to really know. lol.
lol u alwys getting new equipment chad...but nice review and it sounds like ur gonna love them and mayb keep them...haha...i just installed my components too yesterday.....lol i mixed up the tweeter and woofer wires to the crossover, me and berny was tryin to figure out on AIM y the woofer wasnt bumpin till i rechecked my wires again...lol i felt like a dumbazz...
Damn chad i really want that amp. Wish you would have stole it last month. I'll trade you a JL300/2. Happy to hear you love your new comp. Now make sure you keep in there for more than a month.
okay after a good night's sleep i took a listen again on my way to work.
these speakers are awesome no doubt. it has that overall balance sound. plays everything precise and like they suppose to be. what really amazes me is that there are no peaks. everything plays really flat.
now today i need to find a permanent place for my tweeter. at this time its on my window sail. because the left side is pretty much right by my left ear, its stronger. i will look for a better place today.
question.....should i mount the tweeter lower on the door closer to the mid or should i mount it in the far corners of my dash?
lol yanks. i have no use for that sub. lol. i don't need the money either but no sense in me holding on to the amp. i mind as well let someone enjoy that amp at a low price.
btw in case anyone is wondering why i am selling it, well its cause i want matching amps. i have a rd sub amp and i wanted rd comp amp. so i have both.
ditto on the balance of DLS .. i run everything on my h/u flat.. don't need to boost a certain frequency range because they sound great as is
i'd mount them on the a-pillars
if you put the tweets down by the mids.. your staging is going to drop pretty badly unless they were in a kick tweet/mid..
now what you could try to do is make some small pods and run tweets in the kicks .. or even just make some brackets that come off the bottom of the dash.. this way they tweets are not in your face but you can angle them like you would kicks for staging
lowlife is going to pick it up saturday. the amp that is.
after experimenting with various locations for the tweeter, i finally found a place. its at the top of the door panel facing each other. it balances out so well right there.
lol its funny you say that rob. yesterday when i was placing the tweeter in various places, i put both of them up to my ear. when i turned the volume up, i thought my ears were going to bleed. lol.
they sound good. i just didn't have enough space in my car to properly setup the 3 way. that is without doing some mods. i just didn't feel like doing any mods.
