I plan on running a budget SQ system. So far i have put together:
2xFi Q15D1 on an AQ2200D
2xDiamond HEX S600s 6.5 comp sets on a zx850.4

i havnt heard the HEXs so my qquestion is, will the midbass be enough or do i need to add something or change comp sets

just make sure they are sealed well in the door and dynamat.. should have plenty of midbass.. or mount one set in the doors and make some kicks for the other

hmm ive heard those components need ALOT of power to get the midbass going.. could be wrong

personally i would just go with the new premier d-series, their going for about $130 shipped a set on eBay

"im pretty set on the diamonds, im trying to stay away from anything i can get locally"

shop right down the street from me is an authorized diamond dealer.. as i said before ive heard they are very power hungry to get good midbass output

they sound pretty good on display, with the power you have i'd go with the premiers, if your concerned about midbass it would be a big step up

That amp should send the Hex around 185-190 RMS which is pretty close to ideal. Don't doubt them in your setup.

If you want good midbass you're going to need to build some sort of enclosures for the speakers....... it's almost impossible to seal a door from the cabin completely.

I did

Just takes a TON of work, cardboard works like a charm.

No offense mike, but cardboard and sound deadener don't equal the strength of a real MDF or fiberglass enclosure. Also what about the felt strip against the bottom of the window, theres no way to seal that.

In this application it was tested on DIY Mobile, cardboard works just as good. MDF will just make your doors extremely heavy.

All it needs to do is separate the waves and the cardboard does that, no need to go overboard and use MDF.

I don't have any air leaking at the bottom of the window so I don't think thats a problem.

I don't make suggestions with out thorough research.

i think you should just dynamat the door, get some closed cell foam like ensolite or second skin, seal the holes, and buy a pair of dynamat dynaxorb deflex pads

this also helps reduce any road noise thats coming through the doors

Most people will tell you close to the mids, and where they can aim towards your ears. The high frequencies are very directional and can be lost if aimed incorrectly.

Height is the most important thing when mounting tweeters. Move them up and down on on the doors and figure out what sounds just right, not too high not too low.
