What kind of sound are you looking for and what is you budget? Also, what vehicle is it going into? The PDX is a very nice amp, so you are off to a good start.

M.S. there will be no more tinsel slap issues, man. Stop pushing that. How can you all recommend a sub not knowing what he wants out of it or how much he has to spend?

He said sound quality, I told him 3 of the best SQ woofers in that power range.

Fi Qs have tinsel slap issues, sorry can't deny what you see on the forums over and over again. Now of they started using woven tinsels in the spider that would be great. But I have not heard anything about that?????

You need to research a bit more. After all the time I said that Scott should go woven he said "There's reasons we don't..." and look(!) guess what they have now, WOVEN tinsels!

You must have missed the thread on this site that showed that they are using woven tinsels. Also, he said he wants high quality and said he is looking for both sound and quality which is very vague in my opinion.

So Fi uses woven tinsels now? Well your right I must have missed that........

Links to any info about it? That may actually make me consider Fi for future setups.......

Im looking for high quality. a mix of clearity and sound is preferred. Im onlylooking for 1 sub though, its going into a 2007 ford ranger ext cab. I know the amp is good enough for one sub, just not sure which is best. I had two type S in a thunderbird and it was pretty weak so I don't want to go that route

You could buy my Sound Splinter RL-S, best out of all those listed.

I believe its one of the best SQ subs on the market.

"how on earth do matching subs and amps sound better"

Single spider RD Alpha would work good for you as well. 1000 rms on one is like angels with drums. Ask Chad Lee :-)

"You can see the BTL with woven tinsels."

they arnt woven like DD tensils they are squished inbetween the spiders but in any case this eliminates the tensil slap problem. I was very happy when i saw the sub and noticed there werent exposed tensils.

"So do all Fi subs have that now?"

i believe so but im not 100% positive

For 800 I would go with a Hertz Mille 3000 (12"), unless you go fit a 15 inch. In that case I would go with a Hertz Mille 3800. I can get you information if you are interested.

Thanks for all the info though, but have only heard of JL (im canadian)out of any of your suggestions. lol so maybe they are american brands. The problem with puttin 2 subs in the back is that the floor lifts in the middle for the drivetrain underneath i believe. Could i put the box on 4 legs and still have it secured to the ground so it doesnt bounce around?
