Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 348 Registered: Nov-07 | I got quoted $400 for a 200 amp alt from motor city reman, and $430 from mean green...are these good prices? Any way I could get one cheaper??? In need of one, but don't want to pay out the a$s for it. |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 349 Registered: Nov-07 | is there any way to get the stock one rebuilt for more amps...??? or would that just cost MORE? |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 356 Registered: Nov-07 | is there any big difference between the quality/features/watev of MCR and mean green? like, would it be worth $30 more for the mean green, or is it about the same? |
Silver Member Username: DeadrabitPost Number: 233 Registered: Jun-07 | ya man if u can find out how i can fit that alternator in my golf ill buy it from u ! money in hand... to bad it prolly wont |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 359 Registered: Nov-07 | i was told HO didn't make one for my car that's more than 140 Amps...my stock one is 120, so no big difference. (unless you cusom wire/fit it, and that would cost a $hitload) |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 6697 Registered: Jul-06 | Ohio will be more expensive. DB or MCR is the cheapest place your going to get a GOOD HO alt. |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 360 Registered: Nov-07 | ok, hanks MS. I'll just save up then, hopefully by early summer I have enough $$$, lol. ugh, it'd be nice if i actually made anywhere close to minimum wage... |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 8391 Registered: Jun-04 | M.S...."Ohio will be more expensive. DB or MCR is the cheapest place your going to get a GOOD HO alt." M.S. from what I remember mcr had the least idle amperage and then db was the next to highest idle amperage ...mcr was 85 to 95 amps I believe and for my car and db's idle amperage was 105 amps on a ho alt for my car with a 200 amp alt so its something to consider if thats the case for his car |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 361 Registered: Nov-07 | MCR's site says that their 200 amp units will put out 90-100 amps at idle...so yea, sean, thats about right^ |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 6700 Registered: Jul-06 | 90-100, 105, negligible difference |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 362 Registered: Nov-07 | there doesn't happen to be somebody on here that sells alts for discounted prices are there, lol? like a rep from somewhere? cant hurt to check |
