okay guys no bullsh!t in here just answers. alright I got my pioneer premier deh-p780mp back the other day from repairs and I tried hooking it up today and its not working I don't know why. It's reading 12 volts on the yellow wire which is the 12 volt memory/constant. But the red wire the 12 volt accessory is not reading 12 volts. My ? is should it be reading 12 volts if the hu isnt on im not sure. but also I need to figure out wat is wrong because I have no idea

When the car is on the accessory wire should be showing power. Perhaps it shorted out and that's what damaged your HU or made you think it was your HU.

Do you have a test light? I'm sure you already checked your fuse but your wire is probably shorted out. Jump the power from your 12volt constant to your red wire and see what happens.

Run a new line from your fuse panel that powers on with your ignition, there should be an open slot and just use one of those flat terminals and fuse the line.

Haha, you're making it more difficult than it is. Look for a slot on your fuse panel that gets power when you turn your ignition on. Run a line from there and then fuse it nearby or fuse it with a line if you can squeeze that in and then just send the line up to your HU.

what I would do first is reset your pcm. There should be a fuse that you pull and keep it out for a few minutes then reinsert and your cpu will be clean of all old codes and drive stles and ready to learn again. If Mitsubishi does not have a code take your neg terminal off your battery for about 10 minutes and put back on. While the negative/ or fuse to reset is pulled make sure that each fuse in the fuse panel is removed and reinserted properly. That is where I would start charlie.

last attempt.

Diagram

Upload

Sample of fuse box taps. It does matter what side of the fuse you go on. Use a metr to find out what goes hot when you turn the key.

Also in the bottom right is a bank of empty fuses. Probe ones like that for power when keyyed.
