Saturday, March 01, 2008 - 19:48 GMT The amp is an AQ1200. Everything has been working fine until last night my amp just randomly turned off. Its done this now today like three times. Just listening to music about half volume and all of a sudden no bass, no lights on on the amp either. I've checked all connections are good. Any ideas?

Saturday, March 01, 2008 - 20:13 GMT Take a DMM to your 12v+ and ground, make sure you get constant 12v, even when it shuts off like you explained. If that is fine, then take your DMM to your remote and ground, while your car is on. If you don't get 12v on that then replace your remote wire.

Saturday, March 01, 2008 - 22:30 GMT That sounds like a bad power / ground / rem wire connection. As stated check voltage on + and -, and - and REM terminals at the amp when it turns off. If something was wrong with the amp you most likely would get the protect light.

Saturday, March 01, 2008 - 22:32 GMT BTW if you check the power and ground and get nothing, check the power wire's inline fuse. I have seen several cases where the fuse was not making a good connection and caused the amp to randomly shut off.
