Silver Member Username: EvoixmrPost Number: 210 Registered: Aug-07 | Can someone please help me out w/ a ported box design for a 12" Q. Box can be up to 15" tall and 33" wide, its going to be in a trunk so should I put the sub firing up and port to rear? Whats a good box volume and tuning, I want spl and lows. Thanks for any help. Heres a link for specs, its the 12" D2 https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=1547c65bb49571d/shopdata/0020_Q/product_overview.shopscript |

"Did you try subwoofertoolsdotcom?" Yes, the box I have the Q in now is from the design that subwoofertools gave me. Just wanted to build a box that was focused a little more on spl. I tried using winISD and BB6P but windows vista doesn't support the help section so I'm not sure how to enter the info in the right way. Heres the subs specs: Fs 27.1Hz Re 1.4 Ohms/coil Qms 5.63 Qes .48 Qts .44 Mms 231g Cms 0.15mm/N Sd 481cm^2 Vas 48.3 l Spl 84.8dB 1W/1m Bl 15.1 N/A Xmax27mm Rms 1000W Mounting depth 7" Displacement 0.16cuft If any additional info is needed let me know |

I'm thinking a box somewhere between 2.2cuft@30Hz and 2.6cuft@34Hz would be good. |

Silver Member Username: EvoixmrPost Number: 214 Registered: Aug-07 | Exactly, so I need a box at 2.2cuft@30Hz or 2.6Hz@34Hz w/ a straight port? I just need someone to help sketch one up for me cuz I'm not to good w/ that sh!t |

Silver Member Username: EvoixmrPost Number: 228 Registered: Aug-07 | Would this box be better than the one I have now if I changed it around a little. Maybe wider port and run it along the side and back like an L. Could someone draw this up for me? |
Silver Member Username: EvoixmrPost Number: 229 Registered: Aug-07 | sorry heres the box "http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box.asp?Ew=33&Eh=15&Dia=6&Xmax=27&Vd= .16&NumW=1&Vb=2.5&Fb=33&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0" |

Silver Member Username: EvoixmrPost Number: 231 Registered: Aug-07 | Marc thanks for the layout so is the port supposed to be wider in the back then the side? And all the panels are the same length as the box I posted? How wide is the port? |
Silver Member Username: EvoixmrPost Number: 232 Registered: Aug-07 | also would I need to make the purple peice longer to make up for taking the space from the bends out. and if I made it longer would I have to increase total box volume. |
