Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 196 Registered: Apr-06 | I think I have asked this before, but do you think the fact that I have 4ga wire is holding me back at all? I turn it up as loud as it goes and my lights never even flicker, so I am wondering if its not getting all the power its supposed to. Its a bxi2006 amp. |
Gold Member Username: Andrew571Stillwater/Edmond, Oklahoma USA Post Number: 1527 Registered: Oct-05 | did u wire it correctly? also check the voltage going into the amp. Wheres ur gain sitting? |

Gold Member Username: Livin_loudCOD4 Addict Post Number: 2274 Registered: Jan-06 | umm, no offense? terrible vid lol. there is no way you have things hooked up right if that is whats happening. i don't think they accept anything above 4ga... could be wrong there |
Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveA pic is worth 1000 posts!! Post Number: 14378 Registered: Jun-06 | Of course the pan was a joke lol. Right? Yeah that sub looks like it's being fed 50w. TURN THAT BISH UP!!! |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 2093 Registered: Nov-06 | Yeah. You need some heavier cable ASAP. I don't see how that would be all the excursion with 1.6 kW or w/e. Also, check that you have the voice coils wired for your target load. |

Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 197 Registered: Apr-06 | ok so the pan was a joke, obviously. Although Id like to see a sub that makes a pan do that. And I will check all my wiring tomorrow but I am pretty sure that is I have everything wired right. Maybe the amp just isnt putting out enough and I need a bigger amp. And it an "Oversized 2ga terminal" so it should accept something higher. |
Gold Member Username: Spivey17323Dunellen, New jersey 15 inch Alph... Post Number: 1375 Registered: Jun-07 | what kidn of amp are you using??? |
Gold Member Username: Denali_on_22sThe kids love my rhyme... Post Number: 4511 Registered: Feb-06 | dude... i've lost even more respect for the alpha. thats a compact suv and it an 18 isn't even able to shake your remote off the arm rest? you need to check and make sure everything is hooked up right man. |
Gold Member Username: Andrew571Stillwater/Edmond, Oklahoma USA Post Number: 1532 Registered: Oct-05 | I dont think hes turning it up... the fronts werent very loud either. U didnt answer my questions i askt earlier? |
Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 198 Registered: Apr-06 | my gain is actually very high. If it was any lower than obviously it wasnt loud at all. I cant check my wires cause I dont have a DMM anymore. Is there any place where I can rent one or something? yeah I dont want to buy a new one. |
Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 199 Registered: Apr-06 | I also forgot to mention that I did have the volume up about as high as it would go before it would distort. |
Gold Member Username: Nyyfan1315 MAG USA Post Number: 8801 Registered: Jul-06 | They don't cost much at all.....walmart, radioshack, etc |
Gold Member Username: MendonmafiaUSA Post Number: 1324 Registered: Aug-06 | wow that excursion is almost non existant. Makes my video look good lol. no offense just somthing has gotta be hooked up wrong or somthing. theres no way 4 gawoukd hold it back that much. i think you must be wired into 4 ohms or somthing. |
Gold Member Username: Spivey17323Dunellen, New jersey 15 inch Alph... Post Number: 1376 Registered: Jun-07 | yea cuz mine and mike loudons alpha get hella loud on 1500-1700 watts. and if you watch one of mikes vids you see everything in his car shaking same with mine. go to your local audio shop and have them check all your connections if you cant do it yourself. let them tell you what you did wrong and fix it yourself. im sure they wont charge you to check it out |
Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 200 Registered: Apr-06 | Well I am possibly the biggest idiot. Gold Member Username: Denali_on_22sThe kids love my rhyme... Post Number: 4518 Registered: Feb-06 | might wanna turn your gain now that you have it wired right or you will definately blow the sub or amp or both |
Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 202 Registered: Apr-06 | Ok yeah I am going to adjust the gain, but tell me if this is going to be fine.... I wired the negative of one coil to the negative of the other coil, then I have a wire running from the negative of the 2nd coil to the neg on the terminal, and the same for the positives. So basically I am asking..is it ok to have 2 wires running into the 2nd coil? Get what I mean? |
Gold Member Username: Spivey17323Dunellen, New jersey 15 inch Alph... Post Number: 1388 Registered: Jun-07 | so your saying you have neg to neg and then another wire coming from one of the negs to the terminal and then u have the same thing for the posotive side? if so yes your correct 1 ohm should look like this. the first picture http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qt y=1&woofer_imp=3 |
Gold Member Username: Spivey17323Dunellen, New jersey 15 inch Alph... Post Number: 1389 Registered: Jun-07 | make sure your gain is set correctly and you'll be good to go man. use a dmm |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Http://illuzonemu.serv..., ^^^Sick Game Post Number: 7796 Registered: Feb-06 | i had lots of experience with that amp.. you need heavy wire.. i noticed that the amp if you dont feed it right it wont pump too much power... as you increase yoru voltage and current they willg et louder.... they are damn good amplifiers for the money you should use atleast 2 gauge wire jus tbecause yoru lights dont flicker or dim doesnt mean you can use regular 4 gauge instead of 2-0 gauge |
Silver Member Username: MercsableKalamazoo, MI USA Post Number: 203 Registered: Apr-06 | Alright thanks for the help |
