Wednesday, February 27, 2008 - 04:26 GMT " did i do something Wong? " You got an alt from EA. Sounds like it's not putting out power at idle.

Wednesday, February 27, 2008 - 14:30 GMT done lol. what he sent. "It should be charging well over 13 volts, closer to 14 if not better. Make sure the battery pos and neg wire has a good connection and that you are getting power to the harness where it plugs nto the alternator. Does the voltage go any higher if you rev the engine a little ?"

Wednesday, February 27, 2008 - 18:58 GMT when I got my 180 alt. from HO I had the same problem with around 12v at idle, but it would go up to 14+ if I revved the engine. I got a yellow top optima batt. to replace stock batt., and now my voltage stays at around 14v w/ subs poundin at idle.

Wednesday, February 27, 2008 - 19:48 GMT Quentin. Does the idle go up when revving? Where does ur car idle @? RPM... Also make sure the belt isnt slipping. Push down on the belt that goes to ur alt... If it moves more than an inch. Then there is too much slack

Thursday, February 28, 2008 - 03:16 GMT thats why the alt isnt turning on at that low of rpm. a smaller pulley will fix that.

Thursday, February 28, 2008 - 03:27 GMT i say though be careful, my general understanding of electrical says theres a reason that your bulider knows more then takin pot shots here. why i say this is if u get the wrong pully and rev it to much i have a feeling you will kill the alt in a short period of time by forcing more revoloutions into it then rated therefore heating it up and causeing damage or failure. my opinion better safe then sorry talk to your builder.

Thursday, February 28, 2008 - 08:41 GMT 1000????????? kev that seems pretty extream to me i'd look into that a bit unless ur running a beefy engine 1000 seems excesive, 800 seems more decent.
