Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 00:50 GMT hey, just found an old 'roadmaster' 6.5" system(the ones they sell at like meijer) laying around under my bed today... was contemplating putting them under an amp rack when i make one, just to light it up a bit...still designing something for my audiobahn amps(leds are blue to match the amps )

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:15 GMT o yea...lol. i think i forgot to ask it. well, the led's just have a black and red(+/-) wire coming off of each one...was planning on mounting them under the amp racks somehow. Would it be ok just to hook the + and - to the amp remote wire and ground???

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:35 GMT I would use a relay using the remote as the signal. Then get your 12v and your ground from amps or battery, your choice. Make sure you have the correct resistors on those LEDs.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:38 GMT they had a hookup for a 12v source that was attached to the box they were in...they have resistors on them, so i'm guessing that should be good. relay??? how would you go about doin that?

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:41 GMT I personally would not have the LEDs turn on whenever the amps do. It would be best to put a switch on them so you can turn them on whenever you want.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:44 GMT you dont need a relay. just hook them into your remote turn on lead ive done that before and it works fine.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 03:56 GMT you're askin for trouble when using the remote wire if its from the HU lol. But don't listen to me, I've only put 200+ LEDs into vehicles lol. Just use a switch between a power wire of your car and and the LEDs.
