now i see why xplod is junk.got a 10 inch one from 05 or 06 i believe.the red ones from walmart.looked beffy has double magnets.hooked it up in my room in a sealed box.couldnt feel/hear the bass at all.all i could here was port noise.my sx 15 doesnt even make that much port noise.i threw the sony xplod out.cuz i thank there name is right.all they can do is xplod
hooked it up to a stereo.i didnt care if i melted the coil.if i had a amp that could give enough power to blow it at 4 ohms it would be gone.its in another room i just threw it..maybe a wall socket would be fun
the subwoofer makes the noise.i meant thats what it sounds like.some ppl say sony xplod subwoofers have bad distortion.that is the noise i am talkin about
What was the size of this sealed enclosure? One of my friends ran 4 10'' Sony Xplods all in seperate sealed chambers with no port noise or distortion. Another of my friends had 2 12'' Sony Xplods in a sealed box with no distortion either. Sure they didn't sound the best but they weren't half as bad as you're making them out to be.
svc 4 ohm.id say 50 watts of clean power.im guessin around 1.0 cubes of airspace.the box didnt leak at all.maybe somethang is wrong with it.i have no idea
I wonder if this guy is talking about peak power and doesn't really know what he's giving it. Correct me if i'm wrong but 50 watts rms is barely enough for good components.
Of course im gonna jump on a sony thread
I had that same pentagon shaped sub, can't run it lower than 4 ohms or all u hear is feedback. I traded that one for 2 round ones (not sure of model numbers) now I'm only giving them 165w rms each and they definitely get "loud" and I can feel the bass. That's not saying anything for the quality of bass I'm feeling / hearing, but I doubt Sony would continue to make them if they were just straight up trash.
