Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 190 Registered: Nov-07 | OK, it's between the RE SE(Fi SSD), Audioque sd2.5, and diamond D6. 12"s, 800 watts rms to power them. Which ones would fit in smaller(~4 cu. ft.) enclosures? Also, what should each be tuned to? Last question, lol, which would hit lowest and get loudest? Thanks guys. ![]() |
Gold Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 2586 Registered: Mar-06 | RE SE(Fi SSD).....defly not the same sub if you want equipment geared more toward spl, get the ssd, if you wand subs geared more towards sq, get the SE's.. Personally (i owned 2 12" SSds and have heard one 12 Se) I would take the SE |
Bronze Member Username: Prozack52Post Number: 16 Registered: Feb-08 | if the enclosure is ported go with the diamonds because ported enclosures are D6's thing they love ported enclosures |
Silver Member Username: Talon01Team revolution , Pa Usa Post Number: 818 Registered: Jun-07 | aq 2.5 wont get real low but they are loud |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 191 Registered: Nov-07 | o, thanks, i thought somebody had said the se's and ssd's were pretty much the same thing... but then, does the se get loud, compared to the ssd? looking for sql, want it to get loud, but still sound decent, and hit low(not EXTREMELY low, just low-ER)... under $350-ish. |
Bronze Member Username: Prozack52Post Number: 18 Registered: Feb-08 | well your diamonds get low but if you want to go low but its a twelve twelves will hit harder rather than go lower |
Gold Member Username: Naledge503Http://www.LowDownForu... Post Number: 2993 Registered: Jun-06 | The sd2.5 will get real low. I had them tuned to 32Hz and believe me they got low and with authority. Just cause AQ recommends a certain tuning doesnt mean you cant use a different tuning. I played Hypnotize, Late Night Tip and Bass I Love You on the sd2.5 12's and they got real low. I really wish I had took videos when I had them. |
Silver Member Username: Hurricanebr1anWestern Burbs of Chicago, IL Usa Post Number: 324 Registered: Sep-07 | just get the SSDs. they're solid subs and you know what to expect. |
Gold Member Username: Naledge503Http://www.LowDownForu... Post Number: 2994 Registered: Jun-06 | Scott, build a box around 2.2-2.5cuft tuned to 32Hz for your sd2.5 and tell me if it doesnt get low. And zack, what do you mean by this statement? "well your diamonds get low but if you want to go low but its a twelve twelves will hit harder rather than go lower" That is so totally not true. |
Gold Member Username: ZacdavisBeloit, Wi Post Number: 1554 Registered: Dec-03 | I like the Diamonds best out of the choices. |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdNorthern, Michigan USA Post Number: 177 Registered: Nov-07 | he is saying: "well your diamonds get low but if you want to go low but its a twelve twelves will hit harder rather than go lower" IS NOT TRUE |
Gold Member Username: Naledge503Http://www.LowDownForu... Post Number: 2995 Registered: Jun-06 | holy sh!t after all this time, I just realized that its 800rms EACH sub. lololol. I was posting as if it was 800rms total. |
Gold Member Username: Naledge503Http://www.LowDownForu... Post Number: 2997 Registered: Jun-06 | I would bet that Zac has probably heard all of the mentioned subs. And if he says that the diamonds fit the bill for what you want, I would lean in that direction. |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 192 Registered: Nov-07 | yea, lol naledge, i have >2< 800 wrms amps. Also, I couldnt find a price on the sd2.5's...anybody know how much they run? |

If I had to guess, I would say $20 shipping....just a guess. http://www.audioque.com/aq/order.htm Scott s and sean here should know how much they are shipped. Or you can email AudioQue and ask. Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 193 Registered: Nov-07 | Thanks a lot guys. So, either the D6's or SE's, i'm thinking. Either way, good choices? I know it's really up to me, just wanna know if one is WAY better than the other or something. |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 194 Registered: Nov-07 | ok, now what size box should the D6's and SE's be in? Kinda limited space, i've got an older jetta (decent size trunk tho) |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 195 Registered: Nov-07 | ported box, just want to know around what size and tuned to what(for sql-spl). |
Bronze Member Username: Prozack52Post Number: 24 Registered: Feb-08 | i would think between 3.5 to 4.5 cubic feet |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 196 Registered: Nov-07 | net? |
Bronze Member Username: Prozack52Post Number: 25 Registered: Feb-08 | with the port |
Bronze Member Username: Prozack52Post Number: 26 Registered: Feb-08 | i would say cause diamond list nothing online about air space requirements and my two 15 diamonds are in a 6 cubic foot box including the port |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 197 Registered: Nov-07 | and what should the box be tuned to? |
Gold Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 2012 Registered: Nov-06 | i use to own a 1994 volkwagen jetta and the biggest box you can fit in there is 4 cubic feet total just letting you know ;) but trust me almost any sub gets loud in that car with the seat down |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 198 Registered: Nov-07 | sweet, nice to know rayray. What i have now sounds decent...but doesn't get loud or low(only payed like $150 for the WHOLE system tho, lol). |

Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 426 Registered: May-07 | why not just get like 1 15 such as an sx or and audioque hdc3 that will get low and loud |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 200 Registered: Nov-07 | ^^JK, lol, I'm trying.![]() Justin, it's that 'would 1 15" be better than 2 12"s' question again then. ...well, would it, at least in this case(with my budget/space)??? That, and then either i would only have 800wrms, or would need a new amp. |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 429 Registered: May-07 | well wat amp you using cuz what i got from reading above is you had 800rms per sub or is that 800 rms total |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7846 Registered: Jun-04 | "http://www.audioque.com/aq/order.htm Scott s and sean here should know how much they are shipped. Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7847 Registered: Jun-04 | "between 35-40 hertz will give you all around sq and spl" yuck I hate how the typical 40 hz tuned boxes sound ...as a matter of fact I like it to be no higher than 35-36 hz on most subs |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 204 Registered: Nov-07 | i was saying, if i only got one 15" then i would only have one amp. but i have 2 (well, 4, but i'm selling two, lol). I have two A8000T's(800 wrms @ 2 ohms, x 2 amps) |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 435 Registered: May-07 | well put one on ech coil of an hdc3 d2 that should be good or even an sx |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 205 Registered: Nov-07 | can you DO an amp to each voice coil...? lol, might be a stupid question, but seems weird to me. Also, again, would 1 15" be louder than 2 12"s (the ones listed)? |

Depending on whether money is an issue when i go to buy them...not getting minimum wage FTMFL!![]() But i just got my old kicker compvr's hooked up and planning to sell for a lot more than i payed(got em pretty cheap)...hopefully that helps, lol. |
