Your subs are not recommended for ported enclosures so don't even think about it.

Alpine recommends:

Recommended Box Types : Sealed/Bandpass
Recommended Sealed Box Volume : 0.8 -- 1.7 cu. ft.

What you need to do is make sure that each woofer has it's own private sealed enclosure (use a divider) and each side should be between 0.8'^3 and 1.7'^3 (add about .05 per side to compensate for the displacement of the speaker itself.)

I typically decide on two 'set' dimensions for the box (the width and height) and then adjust the depth to make the volume right. If you are using 3/4" MDF or particle board, here's the specs to make a 1.5'^3 box:

1.5 cubic feet = (1728 x 1.5 = 2592 cubic inches)

Set: 34" wide OD (2 chambers each 15.88" wide ID)
20" tall OD (each chamber is 18.5" tall ID)
10.33" wide OD (depth inside is 8.83")
**15.88 x 18.5 x 8.83 = 2594.08 = 1.51'^3**

Of course, you want as much depth behind the driver as possible so you might want to make it a little shorter and a little deeper.

Just remember that there are 1728 cubic inches in a cubic foot and you are only concerned with inside dimensions for the speaker. The more air tight your box is, the better it sounds (this is a big difference between crappy, flat-sounding bass and a crisp slammin' bass)
