Post Number: 17464 Registered: Oct-05 | i am not being sarcastic. lol. i seriously put it. see all this time i thought the bass knob was a bass boost cause some amps are like that. but when i read the maual on my rd audio amp, it is simply a bass level. i set my gain with the knob almost all the way up that way i know it ain't clipping when i have the knob all the way up. from that point i can just simply turn it down. some trance songs have loud bass and it is so loud that it drowns out the speakers. rather than going through the headunit to control it everytime, now i just simply turn the bass knob down. |

Post Number: 17472 Registered: Oct-05 | yea i just called the shop i go to all the time. they carry memphis so i asked him. he told me the bass knob only goes up to the level your gain is set at. its just a level and nothing more. so if you come across a song with alot of bass, you can just turn it down. |

Post Number: 17481 Registered: Oct-05 | dude you need to read everything. the bass knob isn't bass boost. it acts the same as gain. i can turn the bass knob all the way up and it only goes up to what the gain is set at. how do i know this? well i have this thing called the dmm. you probably know what that is. i set the gain with it without connecting the bass knob. then i connected the bass knob and checked the gain again with the bass knob all the way up. what a surprise, the voltage stayed the same. well almost same. off by .1. you really need to know what the bass boost does and what the bass knob does before you go around opening your mouth. |

Dwight, the RD and Sundown amps are the same, plus I was just talking to someone with the same amp you have and I told him to check with Jacob first before he took my advice. Yeah some amps use the bass knob as a BB, but not the sundown/RD amps, they use it as a "gain volume" control, so to speak. you should be fine using yours, just make sure you set the gains properly BEFORE connecting the bass knob. I don't have mine connnected cause I'm just lazy |
