this is the only way i think i can make it fit
the box is going to have to be pretty long. i don't have measurements yet. i was going to ask if something long and skinny like this would be alright.

Uh, how do you plan on putting a 5-6 foot long box in your car?

What kind of car is it?

problem with 99% of modern cars is actually getting the box to ENTER the trunk because of the way most trunk entrance is shaped nowadays ....

Shape does matter to a degree.

"Long skinny boxes are not recommended and should be avoided if and when possible."

Me neither. Everyone should check out the Laminar Vs. Turbulent Flow Velocity 101 write-up on there, too.

Yeah, he is. Once I get my report card and my $100 for straight As , or a job, but I'm not feeling particularly motivated, I'm gonna get him to design me something for the MAWs.

Those Golfs are one of the few hatchbacks that look decent, IMO. Just don't get something too nice. Give it a few years, and we won't be driving much at all. Gas prices will be nuts, if you can find any.

Scratch the VW and get a Subaru Impreza Wagon. Subaru > VW in every facet.

Subaru gets great MPG, last longer and have symmetrical AWD. I used to hang out with my friends at a Subaru/VW dealership owned by the same autogroup. 5 times as many VWs came through for repairs as Subaru's. Even VWs top car the Phaeton was in there all the time.

I got to do a little test driving, and by test driving I mean beat the shyt out of them and Subaru pwned Volks.

Phaeton isn't even as nice as a luxury Chrysler 300. What a joke.

Tubular ports have more even velocity over the area, or so I've been told, and that makes sense. Talk to Pete Kulicki if you want to find out about the best port placement. He'll design you a box. Other than that, yeah, it's gonna be trial and error.

wwhere the port is placed in relation to the subwoofer and vice verca.... you'd be surprised how much it matters.

try to place the sub as far from the interior port as possible.

round ports dont really make a difference unless you have flares on the ends. ive built many boxes with PVC and what ive found out is that there wont be much gain unless flared. slot ported FTW!!!
