To start off, what is you budget? Do you have an amp? Sub? What kind of sound do you want?

if you want to not be "cheap" you need to put an amp into the budget. running aftermarker speakers just of the HU probably wont give you the performance you want.

the infinitys had a bright sound. meaning they dont have much midbass output. however, the better the install, the better sound you will get. sound deadening your doors will give you better all around reponse to any set of speakers.

$500 is a good start out amount, but i wouldnt waste it on a set of infinity's when you can get much better for the same amount or even less. again like Cheese said, what kind of sound do you want?

Well if thats your plan you could check out some Diamond Audio components or CDT. CDT have great midbass and a smooth tweeter. Slap 150to 175w to each speaker and you will be rocking and rolling.

I would suggest the CDT HD line. Great speakers, won't break the bank and they can handle at least 150w. For more info on CDT's and pricing, contact ExigeAudio, or Alteraudio on this forum. They are both dealers and will be able to answer most any questions you have as well as give you a better price then a store.

Diamond HEX's are great speakers too, and have good power handling too.

Try to find a shop and give them a listen, the more speakers you listen to the better idea you will have of what you want ultimately get.

Also, since you don't plan on getting a sub I would suggest just getting a midbass for the rear doors and setting it on the LPF (low pass filter) and running them directly off the head unit. Too much noise from the rear will distract from the front stage imaging you are trying to achieve.

I decent budget amp that'll do 175x2 at 4 ohms would be a Kicker 350.4. You can find them on eBay for about $140 shipped all day long.

Hope this helps, David.
