Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 109 Registered: Nov-07 | Hey, I just bought two older kicker compvr's. they're 400 wrms, and dual 4 ohm voice coil. What would be a decent-quality (looking cheaper than $150) amp that does 400x2 RMS @ 2 ohms or 800x1 RMS @ 1 ohm??? Or can they take more power, and sound better? Thanks. |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 110 Registered: Nov-07 | they're the older cvr's that arent rated for as much power, would that amp overpower them? (or just set gains right?) Amp i have right now, from my old setup is the crunch pzi325.2(rated, 300 x 2 rms @ 2 ohms) overrated, but would that power them ok??? |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 111 Registered: Nov-07 | sweet thanks...anything else that would work, just for comparison, so i have a little selection to choose from??? Thanks again guys. |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 112 Registered: Nov-07 | Also, for the box, would ~1 cu.ft. be enough for each sub? Still have a box if it'll work. (building a cheap-ish system for a friend, lol) |
Gold Member Username: CblazeRock island, Tenesssee Us Post Number: 1480 Registered: Sep-07 | i thank there minum is like 1.5 cubes |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 113 Registered: Nov-07 | well, i'm going to remeasure the box, i thought it was only ~2cu.ft....not sure tho. also, it's a sealed box, not ported. Better off just making a bigger ported box??? |
Gold Member Username: CblazeRock island, Tenesssee Us Post Number: 1481 Registered: Sep-07 | yeah i would give them 2 cubic ft each in a ported box, they will be alot louder |

Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 114 Registered: Nov-07 | HA...sorry, i just realized, i just bought 2 of those exact amps(A8000T's)!. Though they were going to be for my setup, i guess i could spare a used one that i have for my friend and get a new one off ebay for myself... |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 115 Registered: Nov-07 | wait...just occurred to me, isnt the A8000T only 2 ohm stable??? i thought it was 800@2ohm not @1ohm^ |
Gold Member Username: Naledge503Http://www.LowDownForu... Post Number: 2697 Registered: Jun-06 | Yes, the A8000T and A8000V do their power at 2 ohm and the A8002T and A8002V do their power at 4ohm. |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 116 Registered: Nov-07 | ok, how could i hook up the A8000T to two cvr's that are dual 4 ohm? |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 117 Registered: Nov-07 | Also, any input on the overheating of these amps? Somebody told me they overheat a lot. |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 119 Registered: Nov-07 | bump, two dual 4 ohm subs to a 2 ohm stable amp...possible??? |
Silver Member Username: SomedonniedudeIllinois United States Post Number: 729 Registered: May-07 | You could only run that amp at 4 ohms with those subs. So no you wont get full power to them with that amp. |
Silver Member Username: SpankinurwoofersGR, MI US Post Number: 121 Registered: Nov-07 | Thats what I thought, but had to make sure. Thanks. |
