Gold Member Username: CblazeRock island, Tenesssee Us Post Number: 1391 Registered: Sep-07 | you would need a cd player from a car.and the power supplies to power all that cost hundreds of dollars |
Platinum Member Username: Project6Post Number: 14251 Registered: Dec-03 | That is why it is lame, among other things, but naming all the reasons why to someone who still think it is "smart" is useless. It may be cool...if you are 14...hah! I wonder why there is no market for car stereos adapted for home use??? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 5312 Registered: Jul-06 | " you would need a cd player from a car " No you don't....... the home receiver would be the source. Power supply for the amp is where the problem is. To get around that you would have to use a home audio amplifier. |
Gold Member Username: camBC Canada Post Number: 1618 Registered: Nov-06 | And before someone jumps on it, not all home receivers have built in amplifiers. |

At one time I kidded him about naming his first son Apollo, thinking he would get my meaning. I saw him again a few years later and lo and behold, he actually named his first born son Apollo. Apollo Gee. |

Platinum Member Username: WingmanaliveA pic is worth 1000 posts!! Post Number: 12348 Registered: Jun-06 | Under the right conditions using a higher end car sub inside is more than possible. Don't expect super high efficiency or response like the dedicated HT subs have but it can still be an impressive addition if you plan accordingly. I've made several with more than satisfactory results. All I was looking for was alot of low end punch. Guess what? I got it. Just please don't be one of those guys mounting 6X9's in a box in your bedroom expecting to move your curtains lol. Have fun, it's where I started. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/off-topic/340368.html |
