WOW chad relax for a min. I've own audiobahn amp/sub not the best but they get the job done. If you havent bought it let know you budget and will help you stay away from audiobahn.
idk back in the day i was "beatin up the block" with two 15" Audioblings they were pounding like crazy and sounded decent that was till a week later when i clipped them to death :P lol.
i don't know man. me and berny heard a sony system the other day and it sounded clean. at first the guy wouldn't tell us what it was. then later when he said sony, we were like wtf. lol.
wow. didnt expect so many replies within such a short time! point taken over audiobahn! i shall steer clear of them. lol. erm... well including the HU, my very VERY maximum is $1000 (excluding boxes... my dads a carpenter :D ) but i was hoping to spend a bit less...
im definately sticking with the pioneer HU. It's a fiat stilo, and was looking at 12" hopefully... as to the number of subs... i dont really mind, although there isnt alot of space in the boot. I don't mind overly, it's only for cruising x) i just want them to sound and look the dog's bollocks. as you may be able to tell, yes i am new to car audio
Well M.S., instead of just stating your opinion..maybe you could give a few suggestions for a sub and a HU?
The pioneer 690 is a nice headunit man. What type of setup are you going for (SPL, SQ, SQL)? After your equipment is chosen, I could possibly design you a box for your dad to build if you wanted me to.
2. That fiat(isn't that like a brava?) ,if I remember correctly, has a tiny trunk? You actually may not be able to fit a proper size box for a 12" and have any room left.
3. You may want to consider a powerful 10" sub combo maybe like a re or even a lower end dd sub.
well, the fiat i was going to buy has been sold! so that's not happening any more... Thanks Nick, i shall get back to you on that one. Im looking for something which hits the lows hard and clean, although im not aiming to go all out to crank the decibels up. I've heard amazing things about the JL 12w7s...? How much space would you need to run one of these?
i heard audiobahn might be out of business, car shop i talked to lseveral months ago, said he dont know whats going on he cannot get anythang from them.and still he said he hasnt heard from
Well I think im pretty much decided... im jus gna keep it simple, and run a 12w6 off a JL 500/1 in a sealed box, with the pioneer HU.
although im thinking of mounting the sub and amp side by side, so like a V-shape install... there wouldn't be any effect on the sound balance with the sub not being balanced in relation to the car would there?
I thought so.... you may not. I recommended not to get an autobahn sub or pioneer HU, in not so many words........ That opinion based on my experience and experience of people I know, take what you want from it.
