all i want is the 2 loudest 12 inch subs to go in my 3.78 cube box which is tuned to about 34.5 hz and has 36 sqin of port, end of story. my maximun budget is about 400 for both.
Thats what I was thinking. My friend has 2 12" L7's with a Memphis 1100D...and I can hear him from a mile away. He aslo has cracked the seal around his back window and had to have it reinforced. Best bang for the buck. Get them off Ebay or at the Flea Market.
because my box is built in and i will have to remove my entire back seat to remove it also i do not want to have to go through the proscess of building another flashy box like my current one is now. the box i am trying to use took about a week to build between glue and paint drying times. and also what am i supposed to do with the box i have now, it will only fit into cars like mine if the back seat is removed.
i will run 3000 rms if nessicary but i would prefer to spend only 300 on a new amp cuz i can get 150 for my old one. Also they must be round my box is way too nice for me to go cutting into.
the VQ's are not going to be loud enough i dont think. i modled them with winISD agianst my old perfects and they were about the same but a little less. i guess i might try the cvx then, pending i can find a reliable cheap 2000 watt amp.
i once heard that if you like loud bass then you dont know what SQ is. i love loud bass but unfortunately i am limited by my box so im looking to get as much spl as i can out of my enclosure.
i think i might go with thoes se's though only because i know that the sx will take more than 1000 rms and i wont be able to afford an amp for 2 of them. the se on the other hand i can easily afford to throw 1600 at them.
I had 1200 each on my SX 12s and they hit like a mother. MY buddy bought them and has them running on 900 each and they are just about as loud. You'll be fine with 800-1200 on each of them.
Whats wrong with the L7's and why wont they work in your box?
Remember they are the same size as round 12's, you only need to cut out the corners with a jig saw to fit square, very easy. If you don't have a jig saw they sell a cheapy Toolshop at Walmart for $15.
my box is to nice to cut into. i put in alot of time and effort into making it perfect and i dont want to ruin it but cutting it. plus i cant take it out of my car to do the cutting.
ok so basically the W7 would be perfect for my setup (besides the fact that i would need a new amp) but what else is out there that will hit the db levels of a W7 in the same box as it. i simply cant afford 2 12" W7's and the amp to push them.
Tell you what I will do. I will let you have my Crossfire DB312ds for a very low price. They are 12's and man do they knock. I am willing to just give them to you for 300. I cant go any lower, that is my final offer. So how about it.
i dont really like the look or thoes and they are only 500 rms i am planning now on buying a 2000 rms amp possibly a 2500 if i can get a good deal on a md3d. so the sx is looking like its going to be my next new subs. how do the FI Q's compare to the SX's. im about to buy soon and i want to make sure the SX is going tobe the best because it is awfully expensive.
anyone that thinks somthing other than the SX will sound better, but be equivilant in spl or greater in spl, in my box i want to hear your argument.
thats what i like to hear. Im totally breaking the bank on this one but it should be worth it im thinking. about how many DB's should i expect out of that setup running off of 2000 rms in a chrysler 300m with the subs and port firing into the cabbin with the rear seats folded down and the windows rolled up?
