Platinum Member Username: BestmankindIM THE REAL SLIM SHADY Post Number: 16573 Registered: Oct-05 | thats 500wrms more. i am sure it will be louder. just take it easy and i am sure your bm's will handle it. also i think it is worth it cause in case you want to upgrade your subs, you got more power at your disposal. |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 195 Registered: May-07 | well would it ok on my stock electrical if i turn the gain down cuz the amp pnly has 3 30 amp fuses and my alt is 105amp |
Platinum Member Username: BestmankindIM THE REAL SLIM SHADY Post Number: 16580 Registered: Oct-05 | you should upgrade your alt. i suppose if you take it easy on the volume you can get away with it. after you wire up the amp, take a dmm and put it on the power cable connections at the amp. make sure you set your dmm to dc volt. then play some songs with bass and gradually turn the volume up while monitoring the meter. see how far your voltage drops. i strongly suggest you invest some money on a nice ho alt though. there is no way around it. |

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindIM THE REAL SLIM SHADY Post Number: 16663 Registered: Oct-05 | well i wasn't talking about setting the gain with the dmm. i was telling you to use a dmm to see if you get alot of voltage drop. connect the positive from dmm to the power cable on your amp. then the negative from dmm to the ground for the amp. set the dmm to dc volage. then start your car. you should read from 14v - 14.4v give or take a .1v. then start playing a song with some good bass. gradually turn the volume up and see what the dmm reads? |
