I have been working on my new box for 3 days now, and I'm just now getting time to post a build log and pics for those who are interested. Day 1: Well, Canaan and me got most of the wood cut (ran out of MDF) and put some of it together. http://i11.tinypic.com/8fu0i84.jpg http://i7.tinypic.com/6lvh3xw.jpg Not too much covered this day lol. Day 2: On this day, Canaan and me finished cutting up the rest of the wood and built the ports and put the majority of the box together http://i17.tinypic.com/6wm6l55.jpg http://i8.tinypic.com/6t37qeu.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/86q0vgm.jpg http://i19.tinypic.com/6wn9jpz.jpg The two ports are 49hz for SPL and 37hz for daily. Got one of the baffles glued on http://i18.tinypic.com/71rerud.jpg Also got the second one glued on (just a pic of how much glue I put on it lol) http://i3.tinypic.com/6pocoix.jpg Day 3 (today): Well today I got a little bit done. The back of this box will be double walled so it will mount flush with my sheet of plexie. Today I cut the first hole for the plexie. I'm not the best with a jigsaw, but I think I done pretty well. http://i13.tinypic.com/8721w6q.jpg http://i8.tinypic.com/6lc8qom.jpg The pic below shows how the plexie will sit on top of the hole. http://i15.tinypic.com/8b73cy9.jpg I also got the ports sanded down so they will fit into the box. Here's the results by the end of the day after sanding the box completely: http://i2.tinypic.com/7wztsoy.jpg http://i1.tinypic.com/6uif0cm.jpg Time to shower and go to the gf's house for the night. http://i2.tinypic.com/6ptw2aa.jpg Tomorrow I hope to get done cutting the second hole for the plexie and get the second back wall screwed and glued. Not much since it's New Years day. I'm far from finishing my new install lol. |

I'm 95% sure no one else is using this type of interchangeable port...or at least I have not seen anyone using it. 9 bolts hold the ports in, 3 on each wing. http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n151/southern1inla/?action=view¤t=port3 .jpg http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n151/southern1inla/?action=view¤t=box2. jpg My current box: http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n151/southern1inla/?action=view¤t=DSC00 984.jpg |
