looking to hit mid 140's to low 150's with one sub. the sub can be either a 12 or a 15, but would rather stick with a 12. what subs do y'all think could do this?
was looking at the fi q and bl series, dd 9500 series, fosgate T2's, and mmats juggernauts, but still not sure what to do
I've seen a guy hitting 150 with a RE MT 15 and 4krms in a single cab with a blowthrough on burps. Not musical though, and expect lots of tuning and experimenting.
this is for a daily driven vehicle, (a club cab dodge dakota)i would like to hit at least 145db's with one sub, the amp is a modded mmats d300hc, what do y'all think?
i do 150s =) with a single 18. =) its very possible. but 150 musical is very had to do. and will take a lot of power and time to configure box placement and type. =) whats your budget for your whole system sir?
hate to be a jackazz, but adam, have you heard 150 db? I have never heard a 150 db system, but i don't think its just a matter of pickin uot a sub and hookin up some wire..
is your car sound deadened is your electrical upgraded (and sufficiently) is you amp powerful enough
i saw a guy(don't remember his name, sorry!) do 150.2db on the kickpanel in a jeep cherokee with a mmats juggernaught 18 and a memphis 4k amp. had a HUGE slot port box so probaly not musicial tho
1. If your driving around listening to 150dB music all the time your ears are taking a beating. Theres really no point in having anything that loud unless your doing comps.
2. You better do alot of mid and high upgrades if you actually want to be able to hear the music. At least 2 2ways or a powerful 3way up front. I was hitting around 146dB with my 4 15s playing music and had to use 2 6.5"s, 4", and a tweeter on each side just to hear the words. I also had 600wrms just for the front stage.
3. In order to hit 150 with 1 12 or 15 like you want to do, your box is going to have to be tuned for SPL. Theres really no way around it.
4. Make things easier... Get more power and add another sub if you really feel like hitting 150.
"Drop that IA40.1 down to .25ohm and see what kind of power that thing can make."
Hey Joey, I really don't have to, it is on a 16V system (15.8V-18.3 fully charged), BatCap 8400 under the amp in the tire well ;) so at 1ohm it is more reliable BUT puttin out power like Lilrobs mama! Polo..
rd audio hw .2 18 with 2 rd 3250.1s strapped at one ohm hehe 14 volts os all i have though. =\ =) 12cu f box tuned to 34 and a good size port. =) i dont know how much power im actually getting but i think its a lot. haha
My buddy told me about a group of guys that worked hard but got 150 out of two 10's on 500 rms in non daily boxes of course....(I know hard to believe but my buddy hasnt been known to lie esp about stuff like that)
