Quick Question-with my setup would you amp the front speakers and tweeters and run the backs off the HU...cuz thats what my installer did

I am looking for quality, clear bass
I will prob get another US amp 4 channel amp so i am really just looking for a sub. I want to spend a few hundred....200-300 maybe

I honestly dont have much knowledge about subwoofers to be honest. I did my research for speakers, amps, and HU's but I do not know anything about subs. I really need help on what would work best with the setup I currently have.
I don't want tons of bass, I still want clarity from my speakers, but just enough to get some bump. What is ported/sealed? Is dual better?

Seth check out DD1500's they are reasonable and sound great with US Amp. I listened to that combo today in a small sedan. They sounded really nice.

just my 2cents

Fi Q sounds nice and still gets loud. RD also has some very nice SQ subs.

I really have no idea with all these choices. Do I need to get two subs or is it fine with one? Can you tell me exactly which model and brand would be good for me. nothing super loud just good sounding and well-made.

Very nice system so far.

Don't use a 4 channel amp for a sub. Use a class D amp.

What is a class D amp?

My idea was to get a 4 channel amp and have two channels running to subs and the other two powering my rear speakers since I can barely hear them now as it is. Is that not a good idea?

Seth,

M.S. is right. Class D / class d style amps create all of their power within a narrow bandwidth, so they are quite powerful/efficient for driving subwoofers. you could look at a small DD or MMAts. They would fit nice into your system. Here is an example. but many more are just as good.

don't power your back speakers on the same amp as the sub, it won't work properly.

you'll need a separate amp for the sub.

you could use the 4 channel to power the front and back speakers though

Those look nice! I'll prob pick one of those up. So you think it wouldnt be a good idea to amp my back speakers with another amp?

Walye hit it on the head. Yes, definitely use a different amp. If you used the same amp you would have an unbalanced load. That is bad.

Good Luck :-)

You don't need back speakers at all, therefore you definetly don't need an amp for them

One more quick questions guys.
If I get a class D amplifier and it is mono (1 channel) and I get two subwoofers, can I still hook both of them up to it or do I need a two channel?

Example
US Amp XT-1000D
