2 Maw 12s, on a D-10 at 4 ohms.
4 cubes, port sideways, subs forward ~32 Hz.

Sound great on everything; jazz, underground hip hop with more of a bass line than boom boom boom. Loud enough on the lows to flex my doors a half inch. I want to tune lower, though. Unfortunately, I don't have the space.

maw 15 sealed at 2.2cuft ran off a cadence txa1000d (650w or so). not bad, took awhile to break in but is well worth the $105 i paid for it. think i'm going to try it ported since i hear it comes alive ported.

but soon i'll be running a 15" atlas for awhile, then i think a shiva x:-)

DD 9515, box is 4.25 cu.ft. @ 38 hz

American Bass 3000 watt amp

It is amazingly loud for one 15" sub. I've beat a lot of two 12" setups in SPL. SQ on music is fairly good. Downside is the low end, it just don't have it.

MS, have you tried any different boxes with your DD? I'm trying to decide on box specs for my 9515. Anyone have any idea on what size box I should make? And what's a good port size/ tuning frequency for a daily driver for this sub and for comps, I'm going to make a box with interchangeable ports.
Thanks for any help, just starting to research what box I should make.

@ Mark

Canaan is the guy you want to talk to......... he built my box, and has played around with different boxes for DD a lot. All I can say from what I've seen is, don't tune much lower than the recommended 40 hz. the 95s don't have much low end and they just seem to lose SPL when tuned lower.

BTW my box is interchangeable ports...... 38 hz daily, 47 hz SPL

I have a single TC Sounds 5200 powered by a DD Z1a in a variable tune box, 30, 35 and 40hz ports. The 5200 hits deeper than anything I have ever heard at any power! While my Treo SSX likes the 35-40 hz my 5200 likes 20-40hz and just plain and simple, MOVES AIR! Polo..

this is awesome. now we got an idea on what subs sound like.

my sound splinter rl-s has very nice deep and low bass. it adds alot of presence to the all around music in the car. the sq is awesome. i just wish i had a suv so the weight of the subs weren't a problem.

Might just build a SPL box for it. Don't know if I could stand no low end lol. Just put it in when I have a comp then put my Q back in for daily lol.

I haven't had it metered on full power. My radiator decided to blow right before the last comp so I couldn't go

Last time I had it on 1000w it did 141.5 db. It's on 3000w now, and if I had to guess it feels like ~145-146

2 18" AA havocs.
12cuft ported box tuned to 28hz.
2 ED NINe.1s strapped (2400rms)

Extremely loud low end but it falls off rather quickly. Im not happy with the setup at all but im too lazy to build a new box for them right now.
Upload

4 15" Elemental Designs 16ov.2
6.25cuft ported box (isobaric) tuned to 32hz.
2 ED NINe.1s (2400rms sealed)

Crazy sq for 4 15s. Fairly loud for an isobaric box on music. I hit 144.7 dB on an audiocontrol mic with about 3 min of testing. Could probably do 146ish with the right tones and more time to test. My favorite setup ive had as to this date.
Upload

4 15" Elemental Designs 16ov.2
10.5cuft ported box tuned to 35hz.
4 ED NINe.1s strapped in pairs (4kw-5kw)

Very loud for how much money i spent on the setup, 152.6dB on a TL mic. SQ was solid but it was sloppy with fast rock music.

Sub does great on the lows. Songs like Late Nite Tip, So Fly, White Girl, and other songs that get low are my favorite to listen to. Not the greatest sound quality but then again doesn't sound bad. Its a great sub for someone who wants a solid budget sql sub.

Never metered.

fully loaded 18" BTL sounds great with the lows. songs like ridin rims, mobbin remix, airforces, beat down low, and dont makes us sound awsome. running the sub with a kx2500.1 great amp just a little pricy for what it does wish i had gone with memphis 4k.

yesterday i took out my rl-s. i am without any subs at the moment.

this is a little review of my mmats component set.

after taking the subs out, it sounded terrible. the highs sounds awesome but i need bass.

so on the hu i took out the hpf. it is playing full range now. then i enabled loud on my hu and set it to mid. then on the eq i turned the bass up.

now it has decent bass. of course its no where near like having subs but i can stand it. lol. i was surprised to how much bass the mmats 3 way components have.

2 15" FI Car Audio Q's in an 8CuFt enclosure, tuned to 30Hz. Powered by a A3000db at 1 ohm.

Very accurate subs, dont miss any notes. The transition from note to note is very good. Nice solid, loud, low end. Plays very flat and not peaky. Overall this is my favorite system to date. This is exactly what I was looking for when I changed setups.

Dont know what it meters although I'm interested in what it could do on music. This system wasnt built for numbers. What I can tell you is that I have made myself get a few headaches and felt queezy a couple of times, when playing it full tilt for about 10-15 minutes.

A JL 13 W6V2 powered by a Kenwood X811 at 900 watts. Box is a JL spec ported box. Tuned to 30 or so.

Pros
SQ is all around excellent.
Prodogy, Breath plays very well. Great low bass and a fast tite bass line.

Cons,
Price and not enough of them in my van.

You looking for diffrent subs Chad? Check out the Morel Ultimo 12's. CA&E gave them a nice review.

naw man. i already got some new subs.

i just wanted to read what everyone has to say about their subs.

yesterday i just got 2 realm audio 12 inch subs. still haven't got a chance to really give it a listen. but so far i love it. it gets the lows well at the sametime the upper frequencies are awesome as well. it plays all frequencies flat. even though it is in a 32hz ported box, it don't peak.

the way the realm audio subs sound reminds me alot of my 12w6v2 i had. very similiar.

I have a DD 9515 running on a Massive Audio P3000.1

The eu. Sounds great and I lpve it. It gets very loud for 1 15. It is a very nice SQL sub and sounds great on almost any song. Doesn't like the highs as much though like on the song late night hit by 3 six mafia bit all around its a great sub and well worth the money

The P3000.1 is decent but anytime the voltage gets lower then 12.6 it does this thing were it like stops playing for a second. It is really annoying. It doesn't do it as much now that a pit my HC2400 on but eventually I will send the amp in to get fixed

So the sub is great bit the amp is only decient

single RD1000.1D...~1100wrms@1 ohm
2.5 cubes at 32hz (slot port>aeros)

low end is incredible, and incredibly loud for the box being tuned to 32hz...SQ is great although I think the box may be to small as the sub sounds a lil choked up on some songs...

as well as Yanks, I love low hitting songs such as late night tip, white girl, you know what it is

haven't been metered yet:-( although I hope for 138-140s

2 12'' audioque sd2.5s, rfp6002 (now a saz-1500)
3.74cf @38hz

With the Rockford it got pretty loud for only 600rms. loudest songs ive heard on them were air force ones, b!tch(lil jon i think), salt shaker, and songs i cant remember anymore because i havent bumped for over 3 weeks i have to wait to get my HU back.

when i switched to the 1500 i noticed that the bass sounded alot smoother and just over all better. I could not set the amp up properly because my HU broke the same day

2 Blaupunkt vw1000's for now... By far the best 10's I've ever heard. Not so much on lower end but they really hit hard and fast. Great for rock/metal... which is what I listen to so it all works out. Running it on a Lanzar 4000w amp. 2000wrms (so it says) but its really about 1250-1500wrms (what is sounds like).

RE SX 12" powered by a Memphis Power Reference 1000 amp.

Decent sub with rock and such, but really has its moments with rap and can hit really low at times. Love this sub compared to my old kicker l7 which I now realize was a piece of sh*t.

Diamond audio 15" D6 3.3 cf @ 35hz powered by a kicker zx750.1 (running 850w to sub).

Hits hard all the way to just under 35hz, but over extension after that, gonna build a new box in the spring prolly 30hz. Overall nice sounding sub, very responsive considering the box. Didnt sound good or get loud sealed, really came alive once ported. Diamond recomends 3cf @27-30hz, so im betting it will sound great once tuned lower.

4 Fi BTLs 18s, 4 Memphis 4ks. I'm only going to use 1 memphis 4k on all 4 BTLs till I setup all 4 alternators.

I have run just one, and two of the subs/amp combos, and liked them all.

One thing I that I noticed, and that many people have commented on, is "How hard they hit" as people put it. They shine on rap, hitting low 30-40hz notes with ease. Rock is very articulate, and metal with kick/double drums sounds great as well, allthough the recordings themselves often aren't recorded with the bass loud enough, they simply sound good on everything. Even when listening to songs with a lot of bass guitar, or when listening to classic music with some deep organ parts the lows are clean, clear, and easily gets loud enough for 90%+ of the people who hear it to cringe.

The only downfall would be size and weight for most people, since you cant fit large subs in most trunk vehicles, and most who can don't want to lose that much room. Vehicles with loose suspensions wouldn't really like the additional weight either.

Overall I'd say I'm 100% satisfied with the subs.

The memphis 4ks are great for numerous reasons, the most important to me and the reason I chose the amps is because they put out tons of power, but they have a small footprint. By being long and thin I can fit 4 amps where I would only fit 2 others. They look great imo.
I'm not as happy with the amps as the subs though, because I had to send one of them in under warranty. I THINK they're covering everything for me though, so that's good. I didn't let my voltage drop to where there should've been a problem, but there most certainly was. There are plenty of other brands who can drop down to 9v for short periods with no damage, and I was more around 11 (12v on music) most of the time anyway on severe drops. Anyway, as long as the warranty covers me I'm happy enough with them to keep them.
The filters are fine, and are easy to adjust. That's about all there is to say I guess.

has a lot of detail for such a big sub. drops absolute bottom. shakes sh!t down to 20hz, and then you just hear it moving air (windows being open). peaks around 35hz in a 7cuft. box tuned to 32hz.

however, it has no high end. anything at 60hz and above, is not so good. also, slowly rattling my car apart
