Monday, December 24, 2007 - 03:41 GMT A class D (mono) amp is what should be used for subs, simply because they are a LOT more efficient than a 2 or 4 channel amp.

Monday, December 24, 2007 - 04:46 GMT Yeah sort of. With a 2 channel amp you can bridge it to 1 channel for a sub, but a 4 channel amp can only be bridged to 2 channels. Also the low efficiency puts a major demand on your electrical system.

Monday, December 24, 2007 - 04:59 GMT You wouldn't get much power out of it that way. If it were dual 2 ohms you could do that but you would have to make sure the settings for both channels were exactly the same.

Wednesday, December 26, 2007 - 14:44 GMT between the 2 I think the 4 ch is the better option. You can run 2 bridged channels per coil - like you mentioned. I don't see a problem. I would use a DMM to match the gains, and y cables to split your HU's sub or rear output to make sure each coil is receiving the same signal, or as close as possible. However - at $300-$350 there are definitely better options.
