best hz is 40. clean power for daily is like 2000ish for burps around the 3k range. the HDC3 are different though

ive had my sd2.5's and my dd9515 tuned at 38 and they sound great. for the HDC3 i wouldnt go above 2500daily. 2000-2200 will make it shine. make sure its clean power. im sure it will take up to 4k burps if clean though. for 1 12 ide make the box 2-2.5ft^3 net tuned at 38

actually without building 2 boxes for the subs the extra ower is useless 1000-1500 is plenty for them, if you do the spl box i would rec. 2500w of clean power if you get the aluminum coils

daily i would do 2-2.5cf per sub tuned at 38-40hz
on 1000-1500w per sub. if you are going to compete with them the port area needs to be bigger and tuned to the vehicles natural freq., they will take more power for burps vs constant power around 2600w for burps

Get yourself a term-lab and see what your vehicle peaks at using a sweep.

DD/AQ does not measure xmax of their subs, as that is a misleading spec that people will try to rely on designing boxes, when they shouldn't.

As for displacement, I haven't seen that published yet for the HDC3.

There ya have it straight from the owner.........

.18 cu.ft.

10"=.16
12"=.18
15"=.23

The 12" SD2.5's would be close up to 1500 watts on the pair, any more and I would go with the HDC

alright because because 1 hdc3 would be cheaper so i was just wondering but with like 1000 watts the 2.5's would be louder then

DD/AQ recommend 40 hz tuning for daily for all of their subs.

Competition depends on the peak frequency of your vehicle.

With 1000 watts i would go with the SD2.5's. Your system would not be stressed and give you years of service. If you went with the 1000 on the HDC you might be tempted to overdrive the amp.
