Q's and BL's are dual 1ohm or dual 2ohm.

Still a good value.

I wouldn't buy a Fi sub to begin with, but if I had to I'd get the Q for the better low end.

Numerous tinsel lead (and some spider, but mostly tinsel) issues.

haha

Seriously though nate, do a search on the Fi forum on SSA and see how many people have had that problem with Fi subs, especially the Q. Then there was the spider issue with the BTLs. And then how many more people are there who don't post on there?

Fi subs seem to have turned out like hifonics amplifiers and pioneer HUs in that they are not a consistently reliable product. Yes, everyone says Scott has great CS and will fix anything free of charge, but I don't want a product that is ever going to NEED to be serviced. Thats why I don't recommend them unless someone specifically wants that brand.

By perform the same, you mean an SQ sub that is loud?

I actually have been doing a LOT of research on this topic lately since this summer I am building an SQ system.

^^^^ Those are the 2 subs I narrowed it down to, so I recommend looking into those. Actually I'm not 100% sure yet which I am going to run.

You must not have dealt with many pioneer HUs or you'd be familiar with their several issues, the most common being the infamous RCA ground circuit burning out.

And it affects ALL their HUs BTW. They all have that same circuity except possibly their top line SQ unit, not sure on that one.

Since nobody posted a budget why not a Mag?

I love my Q. But if $$$ wasn't a concern the Mag fits both bills in my eyes/ears. It pounded and sounded so clean.

FI's a good value. I've never encountered tinsel slap, maybe cause I never pushed her to that extreme like those do in car audio. However I have pushed her quite a bit on occasion.
