Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 05:05 GMT My sub ('06 WMD) started making a weird noise tonight, so I took it out and checked the coils. One still reads 2.2ohms, but the other one reads 6.9ohms.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 05:24 GMT That mean it's blown? It still performs but it makes a rattling noise. The coil still looks good, and isn't scraping or anything. It's wired to 1ohm but reads 2.3.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 10:19 GMT I tried to make a video of it but my camcorder is fu<kin up. The sub started sounding alot worse than before, so I checked the coils again and saw this. One coil. Other coil. Putting pressure on the cone. Coil looks perfectly fine. How does just one coil go bad?

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 10:34 GMT Then tell me what I did to it because I sure as hell don't know. It's been working perfectly fine for the past few months until today.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 12:10 GMT never heard of that sub. probably like human vs. dogs; dogs die faster unless a human is in a unforseen event.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 13:41 GMT "How does just one coil go bad?" Why do you guys seem to think that both coils go out at the same time?

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 14:16 GMT try hooking up power to jut the coil in question and see what happens. if it rubs or makes any noise shes done. coil may have come unwound.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 14:19 GMT oh and just because the top of the coil looks ok doesnt mean the bottom is. fyi. but i doubt that has any relation to your situation
