Need to know what power amp i would need for these :-)

hi im a new driver and i really dont have a clue about impedance, ohms etc. just confuses me if i try to find out what i need :S, right i have got an Audiobahn AW1200V sub with two 4-ohm voice coils, 700 RMS watts(350 each voice coil) ,i also have 2 x alpine 8" swe-843E subs both 120 watts rms with 4 ohm impedance, i would be really apreciated if you could help me with what power amp i need to power these, would i power 6x9's off my amp aswell? lol tell im a newby thanks a lot steve (H)

First things first, which do you want to run the Audiobahn or the Alpines. Mixing different subs in the same system will sound like complete crap.


I'd use the Alpines as audioburn sucks.

is their no way i can run bot then :-( lol prob the audiobahn unless u recomend the alpines might be jus as nice sound wise lol, thanks a lot matey

Well you can run them together in the same system, but it's definitely not recommended.

IMO i suggest u sell everything & buy 1 or 2 good subs depending on the available trunk space ...

just bought them so i cant do that unfortunately lol! ive been told to get 2 identical amps could work becuz my 12"er has 2 voice coils 2 ohm each
n alpine 8"ers have 4 ohm impedance

so that audiobahn is dual 4ohm
you can wire it like this

this would wire to a 2 ohm load
you could look for a kicker kx 600.1 to go along with it

:s lol i really need to learn this stuff ;D would i not be able to use my alpines on the same amp then mate, right so is my sub actually 4 ohms so if i got a powerful enuff amp run them all? lol nice one ppl for the help steve

if you do run both subs you would need sperate amps but i highly advise you not to like M.S. said i would use the alpines they are way better in sound quality

ok thanks for the help guys have you got any recomended cheapish amps for my alpines?
n if i get 6x9's cud i run them off it n all? :D shud av it up n runnin soon enuff!

A Kicker ZX300.1 would be a great quality amp to use with your alpine subs

ive been told two fli amps by vibe wil power them, i was told about half of the watts will power the sub? as u can see not gainin much knowledgge :| lol
