anyways i have a few things to look forward to for christmas.
1. almost a week off from work. 2. $1000 bonus 3. working on cleaning up my install. 4. heading up to big bear (local mountain) with the family for 2 days. we got a huge 3 story cabin up there. 5. my parents coming from korea. havent seen them in awhile. looking forward to some home cooking from my mom. lol.
It'll be a good time. Having family over on Christmas day. Then going down to Florida for a week starting the 28th.
This will be the first Christmas I will have had at home in the last 2-3 years. I normally celebrate them at the airport because I would be going down to Tampa Florida for a soccer tournament. Done with soccer now so it'll be nice being at home for Christmas.
I just wrote to my local paper. I'm a crazy sob lol. Also someone who loves Xmas.
"Hello, My name is Paul Larrea and I have a moral dilemma that I'm hoping your paper can help me with. I'm a current subscriber and a single parent who recently purchased several Nintendo Wii's on Ebay to sell back for a profit. I purchased one for my son. I am a very generous man who purchases turkeys every year and gives them away during thanksgiving. I also help a local needy family out at Christmas with a son who has Loews syndrome. I don't do these things for any recognition, only to help those in need.
Tonight minutes before my Ebay auction for one of the Wii's was too end I received a phone call from the Purple heart asking for a donation. I was so engrossed in my auction that I dismissed the call and hung up. Needless to say after the auction I was beside myself. I took it as a sign. "I'm doing this for the wrong reasons" I told myself. This isn't who I am.
After putting my son to bed I received another call from yet another charity. I listened. I also donated. THIS is who I am.
What I'm asking is this: I would like to put up a free Nintendo Wii (the absolute hardest to find item this year) with the extra nunchuck and Wii play system that includes 9 additional games and a remote in your paper to the perfect family in need. This is going on Ebay for $500+. I'm asking two things:
1. Your help in determining the authenticity of the family's circumstances. 2. A free source of advertising for this holiday gift.
I will deliver the item myself unless other arrangements are required. I am taking a $500 loss in doing this but feel it's worth more to me in seeing it get enjoyed by a child who otherwise would NEVER had otherwise, rather than a child who expects it.
Can your paper help me and another family out? Please let me know. Thank you.
a big round of applaude for paul^^^ i was touched by what you wrote paul. thats what christmas is all about giving and not receiving in return. i hope they read it in time and good luck with that.
I just need their resources in determining a family's circumstances. I want details. If I were to put it up on Craigslist I'd get 1000's of responses and all of them bogus.
I need to see the home, ya know?
That's what I did with the turkeys. I delivered them all and saw that they had nothing.
13" tv, broken windows, two families in the house, ect........
One family was serving soup on thanksgiving before my turkey. THAT was gold!!!
hey paul ... i just talked to the 2 schools we donated all the money to ...
they wanted to thank everyone who participated and such ...
