alright, so i have posted a lot of topics, but this will be the last one. my friend has 2 12 L7s and has been bragging like crazy. i want 2 12s that are louder and hit harder than his l7s. my budget is 900 max for 2 12" subs, box (should i get ported or sealed), and amp. i do plan to upgrade alt to a 180amp, along with a big upgrade. will i need another battery or any other upgraddes? i have an amp in mind, an spl phantom dk3400, if its worth it.
buy killa's two 12" SX ill find you a nice amp for them later.he wants 300 for em and you can buy a kicker 2500.1 but you will need a bigger alt then 180 tho
well the most i want out of the subs are around 1600-2000rms. i was thinking eD, or Fi BL12, or Fi Q12, or DD3500e, or audioque HDC312! opinions on those?
alright, i have settled on the hdc312s...arnt they only like 200 each? that would leave like 400 for an amp and a box. opinions on the spl phantom dk3400 amp?? or how much would a kicker amp be for one to power these hdc3
incorrect. HDC312's are 229 each plus shipping which is probably 30-40 dollars. it also depends how much power you want and if you have the charging system for it...the kicker zx1500.1 goes for like under $400 on ebay...n then you still need a box too which preferably custom box is the best way to go...
r u can just go with 1 HDC315 which can possibly get as loud with the right box,install, and amp and sounds cleaner then then your friends muddy l7's lol.
that single hdc would probably have no problem sounding better, but not louder. unless his friend has a completely trashed install, the pair of l7's will probably be louder (never heard an hdc though). though not the best sub, a pair of properly powered l7s' can get loud.
well i was just reading up on the hdc315, and it says its 1k rms. i have read on other forums and reviews that it can handle more...thoughts on that? or how big an amp to get? spl phantom dk3400, kicker 1000.1, what?
The ideal combination for the HDC3 is the AQ1200D for daily or if you want it real loud buy the D1 HDC and strap two AQ1200Ds at 2 ohm. That will give you 2400 pus watts.
get somthing that gets low.... anyone who thinks a kicker is good (not for stricly SPL things but they think its loud and sounds good) lows to people that dont know the difference think its louder just cuz how it sounds and shakes... keep that in mind... and lows are better anyways ;)
Its gonna be hard to be noticeable louder then 2 L7's..It sux that you cant even enjoy your system..that the only reason you want it for is to be louder then your friend??? Thats weak..anyway...
I cant really think of any subs that will be louder then his without planning out your entire system box and all...
its in a 2002 eclipse...some kind of kicker amp on it. sealed box, audiobahn hu...hes not good with this stuff, so its not as good as it could be...i will either get 2 hdc312 or 1 hdc315. i want one amp powering it. daily driver. what electrical upgrades will be required.
i have 1 hdc3 12 and it hits 145db daily on 1200 watts and in a burp box its doing almost 148 so dont tell me a hdc wont get with 2 l7s. just make a inter. port on the box and i will be plenty loud
That eclipse is a good vehicle for spl...personally id do two audioque 2.5 12's on 600 rms each 1200 total and it will sound better than the hdc 12's on the low end and still get loud
two 12" BMs on a nine.1 in a 4.4 cu ft box can hit 144 db...
what kinda car do you have?
or you could just get a job at circuit city for the xmas season....buy a zx1500 for 240 and 2 L7s for 80 a piece and buy the kicker livin'loud ported box and yours will be louder...and only cost 400 bucks plus some wire and box
well if you want low end and hdc subs do the 15's they will be loud and good on the low end but be aware of the power your going to need and the alternator needed to get there 2600 watts takes the 300 amp irragi alternator to where I consider good voltage on burps at 2000 rmp.... 13.1- 13.3 volts
I knew you had the scion .....i was just saying the eclipse is a good car for spl so im sure the L7's are loud like he has it set up (im guessing firing up port up right?
