Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 6186 Registered: Jul-06 | Those HO alts only put out 105 amps at idle. That's not very good... |

Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 6194 Registered: Jul-06 | "Rob, you do realize that HO/Dom/Ohio alts are rated at 1200-1500rpm...right?" Of course but is that the revs of the engine or the revs of the under drive pulley? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/300amp-Amputator-Series-Iraggi-Alternator-Chevy-G MC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33573QQihZ018QQitemZ7963120329QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZW D1V That's the alt I have and 135 at idle is just not enough so I raised the idle up a bit on my engine which doesn't make stopping that great and makes my gas mileage a bit worse as well. I wasn't saying that we need alts with higher amperage to bash the companies listed here in this thread but I said that about needing more amperage at idle from ALL alternators. It would be pretty nice to have 300 amps at idle wouldn't it? |

Gold Member Username: Th3pwn3rPost Number:... Post Number: 6198 Registered: Jul-06 | I thought about taking out my A/C and installing another alt in it's place. |
Silver Member Username: BoomtankRochester, NY USA Post Number: 409 Registered: Oct-06 | Im in the process of doing the same thing. Putting 2 185amp alts in for now then upgrading later when i really need that much current. |

Post Number: 6199 Registered: Jul-06 | ^Thanks for looking out Isaac but even though it's been charged with R-something last summer it still takes forever to get to a decent temperature because of the large cabin and it just doesn't seem to work all that great. Even when it was really hot I never even bothered to attempt to use it, I work in a warehouse and it gets extremely hot at times inside trucks and what so I'm used to the heat. |
